I had clip studio paint 3 year thing because it came with my graphics tablet but I still use krita because I can find the right tool and I like the mapping to the buttons more on krita, basically workflow reason. (Also I was beginner and still kinda am, so not as many functions are better for me personally)

krita's Stabilizer tool is EXTREMELY HELPFUL for beginner mouse artists to stabilize the mouse strokes ig. Idk if other apps have stabilizer but if they do then I am just sounding very dumb.

Try Firealpaca, the stabilizer is great and I prefer it to Krita.

well 25 bucks for csp (they have regularly sales) is a bit mor than photoshop monthly fee. I admit photoshop is very powerfull but in CSP everything is set up for drawing and creating manga. the addon shop is very convinient and has nearly all features photoshop has that sai is missing. Krita is too strange in terms of folders for me.

I know that video is from 2020, but now with microsoft translate, most translation are legible. Yes, even the User Ask Forums. Which is really awesome. Sometimes it sure sounds a bit wonky, but mostly in the sense of politeness level. People that use the more colloquial Japanese DO tend to get the weirdest results though. Also, there are three versions. The cheap/freeish one, Pro and Ex. I am not 100% sure what ex offers more than Pro, but if I remember right, Ex is used for people that actually publish Manga in print with certain settings. Since some time ago, they also have a subscription base (which raised a stink with the community) which is WAY cheaper than Adobe. If you could do animation tutorials on CSP I would be happy :3

Maybe my question seems stupid but can anyone please, explain what the difference between the apps which are used for illustration (such as inkscape, adobe illustrator, etc.), apps for photos edition (such as photoshop), apps for art (such as krita, and other apps which were mentioned here) and apps of animation? I'm just begginer into this field, generally i aim to create medical and biological illustrations, but i'm some kind lost in front of the huge amont of apps p.s. Nowadays I'm using inkscape

the absolute disrespect to Krita... As far as the open source goes, Krita's the best, a lot of stuff stuff work out of the box and with little messing around to get started, also the brushes are hell of a lot better than PS's. Never tried CSP though. As for GIMP, it's an image editor first and drawing app second, and even as an image editor, it's kind of over the hill, there's been little progress in they're 20+ years of existence and the oh-so-fabled version 3.0 isn't that promising.

Is krita really that pathetic? When i opened photoshop and tried to do simple things in it (completely new to 2d) I literally rage quit several times because all the button names didnt make any sense to me, all controls and actions that happened when i clicked something felt random and uncontrollable and the entire positioning of tools in the layout where unintuitive. I was literally getting an aneurysm. I immediately questioned how any sane human can use photoshop. I was so relieved when I found Krita and it could do what I needed with buttons that actually made sense.
