Today we are talking about digital footprint. Something that is very real, and just 5 years ago, could destroy any rappers reputation. Although in 2024, getting exposed for not being who you portray, is EXTREMELY common. The new gen genuinely doesn't care. Or so they think, because an industry full of documented cap rappers, has 1 reprocussion. They are not respected.
So sit back, relax and enjoy y'all!

We always gotta see the bigger picture, thats why I like you cause you keep it real always. This whole Kdot v Drake beef is the epitome of a Popular Digital Footprint v a Scarce one. Whoever got more accessible dirt out to the public. Public perception is everything and thats how society has been deceived with lies for so long. Nothing is really objective anymore it’s a sheepish world and false shepherds all over earth it just how it goes, how its always been and always will be.

New gen gotta take the Eminem route and be able to take all this clowning stuff and release sum actual good sounding music and talk about struggles they actually had growing cause tbh nobody life is perfect and if these artist just started being themselves then we would be more accepting and understanding

I grew up in 5th ward htx iykyk, never been a gangbanger I just did my schoolwork, extracurriculars, played games; but i fought if i had to and refused to be bullied. I moved to a prominent suburb outside of Houston for my last two years of HS and the amount of people I saw pretending to be gangsters was significantly higher than the literal GUTTER. They'd swear up and down they were "about that life", only ever willing to fight people who clearly did not want to fight. Couple of guys went running around in actual hoods and died. When I see these rappers Ihave a little inside joke where I just label them with the name of that suburb I used to live in. I love rap but the banging lifestyle never seemed cool to me. I did everything I could to find alternatives and not become that kind of person. They run to it because THEY DONT KNOW IT and it seems appealing from their boring suburbs. I WISH I had a boring childhood and the options these guys had. Fools. To make matters worse, in that suburb I mentioned most of the people are second gen african or island immigrants. And then they get on and influence real kids in the hood sometimes. Sorry I just had to vent bc sometimes I wish I could erase the "street" parts of myself bc a lot of it is so damn maladaptive seeing these people glorify it does kinda piss me off

The old heads were on to something saying "Real Rap" is dying. Cool, we get new/unique sounds to hear, but what's the point if it retains 0 substance or truth within it?

The fact that gangsta rap wasn't the original genre and it was always originally some "i said a hip.... hop.... a hippity hop and you don't stop" party music.

look at 21 Savage and Lil Tecca they admit to lying about what they say while Osamason gets made fun of for being normal

i don’t think this new gen music will age well. regardless of people liking it or not, over time people will just move on to something else that fulfills that same level of musicality bc they don’t respect that individual artist enough to be a true fan. And they aren’t artistic enough to be inspired enough to create their own thing they just are very good at copying what they like or want to be. A lot of these newer artist going up in the scene , don’t have an actual personality that can inspire ppl mainly bc they aren’t living a life 😂 they are clout chasing for a living. I think a lot of their fanbases are fabricated anyway or like children with 0 taste of their own and are chronically online. But regardless all of it is “of its time” and i think this will become a normal thing where it’s gonna be rare for anything “hype” to last long and either new ppl are gonna keep recycling the same sounds or it will hopefully stop being a thing. I think once rapping became a profession you can seriously seek by just going viral, a lot of ppl who are to lazy to even be artist but online enough to know what ppl/algorithm responds to, that started the influx of terrible copycat era. But seeing how Lazer Dim is going up by literally being himself and not forcing a lie i hope people go more in the direction of just doing it bc they like it and i think fans will gravitate towards that bc at the end of the day being relatable and having fun is what i think fans gravitate towards most. Before getting inspired and whatnot we all just attracted to qualities that remind us of ourselves and what we do.

It's so ironic that basically everyone in this video preaches about being yourself. anyways I think people like osamason deserve some respect, bro worked 10 jobs before rapping and he literally brute forced himself to get good at rapping. I listened to a lot of the leaks and he really be rapping about the same shit on every song. he has like 500 words in the vault that he just reuses over and over again. his beat selection, his flows, his cadences really are the only place he stands out. I genuinely believe he is good at that shit because that's basically the only thing he is changing in his songs. he's saying the same shit so he really has to think outside of the box with his flows and he does. The appeal is that you won't EVER hear a mainstream rapper flow like him or get on a beat like him so he provides value in the sense you won't get it anywhere else. A lot of these underground rappers are similar, they are pushing the box on a certain aspect of rapping but they don't have the whole package or aren't being authentic. Thinking back to 2016 xxl every rapper on that list was real af and authentic and coming up at the same time which is why it was so great.

Cap rap has always been a thing i mean look at drake. Dudes whole career has been one big “role”. Hell even the guys who inspired the current artist were lying like future lmao. Plus the casual audience just doesnt gaf about authenticity, they just want something catchy to listen too.

we’ve always had exceptions but its never been as accepted to the point it is at now. Yes there’s always been cap rappers, but they don’t need to hide it anymore and that’s what’s crazy 💯

Who is ACTUALLY surprised by this lol unless you’ve never seen actual street ppl, you could tell they obviously posers we js bump the music. Obviously the real ones get extra points for being real, but if you could make fire make fire why not 🤷‍♂️ separate the art from the artist

Also the seen is a younger crowd, young people are the main ones on the internet. Most lil baby, nocap, and young thug fans don’t care to go lurk into a persons whole life before fame like a weirdo.

I should’ve said pop, as in Justin Bieber, Kid Laroi and artist like that. What I was implying was compared to the origins rap were built on, today standards, fit closer to that, than rap.
