Hi :) Came here to find out more about IT job titles, it seems that level 3 support is more often called engineers, whereas, the level 1 people are called support analysts, service desk, or simply technical customer service. Thanks for your video; it would be great if you could add info about the salary bands for the roles.

so basically level 1 despite whatever the company never leave their desk and attend phone calls and solve tickets but what about level 3? It seems they also don't leave the desk but are responsible for the more technical stuff?

Level 3 is doing network or server. They are the engineers, they setup new switches and seldom have people call them. They need to do the high maintenance and reports on their job. You can’t do Cisco without CCNA.

It's a completely different field and skill level. Depends on how much experience you have with statistics, programming languages, databases, etl and Software development

Not really afaik, at least not one overarching one. Windows and other vendors generally have pretty extensive documentation, and more niche issues can be found in their help forms. However a lot of the connections between these services and how it works in your organization will not be there, as setups can greatly vary by company. If your department is not a hellhole, they should have a decently informative internal wiki with common problems, diagrams, etc.

@@ywyw5535 update. i couldn't get a cloud role so i ended up with IT support first. though i would say i touch on all aspect now; system, network, and cloud. I came to realise building your foundation is more important. not wise to skip to cloud straight on.

@JklHints-Tips All good, I've only been in the professional industry for two years I wanted to befome an embedded systems engineer and decided against it as that's a field AI will take over quite soon. It's something I love doing, but to be honest the pay isn't all that good So going into remote support to get experienced in cloud platforms to work your way towards becoming a cloud architect (don't focus too much on azure. AWS and google are the kings these days)
