@@DigitalCharcuterie Well Matt Reeves said that the seeds for the plot behind Part II were set out in Part I and The Penguin, the only seed I can think of is one big seed that all comes down to one thing: Arkham Asylum. Remember when Matt flashed the word "Hush" all over the screen? This was either an easter egg towards the Riddler, i.e. he had a grudge against Bruce and acted out, as Edward Elliot has done historically. Or it's an actual hint that we are going back to the corruption behind the Waynes murder and how that ties in with the Elliots. We also know Bruce's maternal family was the Arkhams. And we also know that his mother spent time there. The Penguin has links to Arkham (we spent an entire episode there, and poor old Sophia spent 10 years). If we do go to Arkham in the sequel, we might see Crane/Strange. How does Julian tie into this, does he at all? Most likely candidates for Part II. Oz - confirmed. Catwoman - very likely. Riddler + Joker re-appearance, but not them taking the mainstage - very likely (watch finals scene of Part I). Harvey Dent - very likely to appear as Harvey, but I sure hope Matt doesn't do the two-face transition in one movie, we don't want The Dark Knight v2. Likely to appear as Harvey as Matt has said he'd love to make a Dent series betweeen Part II and III. Hush - if the hush comment is really just an easter egg reference to Riddler then not likely, otherwise likely. Crane/Strange - likely as I think Arkham is going to play a big part in Part II, we haven't even seen the exterior yet. Freeze - no actual references, but people will think snow = cold = freeze, not likely. Zsasz - not likely, Victor isn't him, he's his own character. Clayface - golden age clayface would be grounded enough, but no seeds planted, Eve Karlo doesn't count unless the final Penguin episode ends with her getting killed while on the phone to Basil... That would be interesting. Not likely.

To extend: The promo newspaper released for The Penguin had the phrase "dented" in the DA section, this could be nothing, or a major hint. Once again I re-iterate, Matt isn't one to do things for no reason however. Court of Owls - no real indication, but will fit better as Part III not Part II, 2nd year Batman is far too young to fight them, atleast cannonically.

Or mr freeze could be a killer who freezes his victims because he’s obsessed with preservation because he froze his wife to keep her around. He could just wear a lot of heavy jackets and maybe a breathing apparatus because he suffers from some sort of ailment, honestly slightly similar to bane from dark knight rises but with a much more tragic and twisted edge

Mr. Freeze idea for Matt reeve's world: I think Mr. Freeze could keep the same background with wife dying and he preserves her with liquid nitrogen and he studies the effects and benefits of it. On his first crime he uses the nitrogen gun on a (guard or policeman or some kind of chamber that holds nitrogen) that he created that he only used for his wife to spray her down periodically but then decided to use it for bad things. As he uses it on his first crime, the gun can jam or the wind can blow back some of the nitrogen on a body par like a finger or a piece of skin causing permanent damage. ( the finger could turn dark and fall off or his chest could be burned but still functional) . This could cause him to start using the Mr. Freeze suit and make it more realistic. In other words, no he dont need it to stay alive, he uses it because he was almost killed from the nitrogen while using it for his crimes. After the suit is made the sky is the limit for his crimes

The good news is the Penguin was meant to be part of the Batman 2. And, Lauren LeFran did the heavy lifting on the show.
