I have the older Reloop hub stand and upgraded to the Odyssey Smart Laptop Stand for the ports. But this might replace that if its as light as you say it is. Great job on putting that info out.

Hello Phil. Will the the Denon Prime go recognize the USB hub if we plug a USB stick in there?

@leighinibiza11 күн бұрын
One port it hasn’t got, and it’s difficult finding a hub nowadays that has one (probably because of the small number of use cases) is the old 3.5mm audio jack. If you’re using this with a modern iPad where you need to take the audio from the device, split it etc you’ll need a separate dongle. I can’t see the port making a return to ins though, like I say, small number of use cases.
@digitaldjtips11 күн бұрын
You could plug a USB-C-to-3.5mm TRRS into one of this unit's USB-Cs though once your iPad was plugged in to achieve that, which would look pretty neat. Not sure they designed this at all for iPad though.
@leighinibiza11 күн бұрын
@@digitaldjtipsgood shout, hadn’t thought of that. I was looking at a USB C power/3.5mm split dongle into the iPad 1st. Their official images show it in use with iPad but most gear has got the audio out for headphones, very few don’t
@HartogLeon10 күн бұрын
@@digitaldjtips I tried to connect one of those 'C to 3.5' adapters (the original Apple one) to a 'normal' USB-C multi-hub and it didn't give me audio, so I'm not sure if it will work on the Reloop stand..

Is any of the usb-c ports can be used for a display out? I have a steamdeck i use a touchscreen monitor with a 7 port usb-c hub with display out on one of the usb- lorts works like a charm but the hub hangs down too much. If any of the usb-c ports has a display out i'd buy this big time
@digitaldjtips6 күн бұрын
I suspect they will, it's just a powered USB hub at the end of the day

Can the USB-C ports support a DisplayPort monitor, instead of using the HDMI port, do you know?
@digitaldjtips7 күн бұрын
I would assume that it can, seeing as they are behaving just like any other USB hub that's powered and connected to a computer. But if it's something that's vital for you, then it's worth checking before buying.

Looks great. Inhave the crane which I retired to my home when I purchased the Magma stand which was lighter and more compact. But a little more fiddly. Be interesting to see weight comparison and size when folded compared to magma. Give it a run to see how portable it is
@digitaldjtips11 күн бұрын
I'm gonna guess lighter. It's tiny when folded, too

Hagibis, Cabletime and Blueendless make similar stand hubs for iPad users. I use a magnetic ipad stand and have a fledging hubble case attached for the additional ports. Keeps things tidy.

IMO it really should have at least 3 USB-A ports... but ideally 5. The main use case I see for this in the club is for DJs and venues that want to use decks and a mixer with their laptop in HID mode... but having to rely on currently uncommon B to C cables to do that is not ideal. Seems like a higher priority to me than SD cards >>
@digitaldjtips11 күн бұрын
The old one had 4, I guess they think they're on the way out. Those cables you mention are the answer though, Amazon is the place
@mrniceofmass6 күн бұрын
I grabbed this last week and as a hub, it is great but as a stand, it didn't work for me. It is too short (7 inches tall) so when I put it in my flight case with a Performer, the laptop was literally touching the controller. I removed the base and laptop plates and I am using the hub with my old stand (13 inches).
@digitaldjtips5 күн бұрын
I don't understand how it can be too short. But I suppose if your flight case is very big, I get it. And that's in the U mode, not the Z mode, right?
@zerozero700411 күн бұрын
Nice idea but the cable management is a sloppy mess. They should put the hub of connections at the base and have a hollow channel up the main tube with a USBC jumper to the laptop for connectivity. Fix that and it’s a keeper.
@digitaldjtips11 күн бұрын
not sure that'd be a "fix" - too fiddly for setting up in clubs etc.

Odyssey make a stand hub but I think it’s more like Reloop’s original one. I have the original Reloop original and always thought it lacked the sturdiness I wanted. I may invest in the new one though for all the improvements

Can’t help thinking that this has a significant price hike by branding it as DJ gear. It looks like something I’d find really useful for my WFH setup, just not for that price.
@digitaldjtips11 күн бұрын
Not sure why that would be the case, also I don't think they massively brand it as DJ gear, although obviously we're going to review it as such
@djmattkv67457 күн бұрын
nitpicking here, but it would be nice if the cable connections were at the front of it instead of the side, so that they are out of sight to the public when performing

The USB hub in my Reloop Stand Hub broke shortly after 2 years :( And the stand was always a tiny bit crooked, it would wobble a bit around. Had to add a bit more padding under one feet to fix that. Shite quality.

I always find it funny that people see all the these plugs and don’t understand how they work, is it a thunderbolt three or four? How many watts is the input and output, do the USB have power too for like the Phase units and so on. I wish these companies would stop trying to make an item that is for everyone and just make a pro unit that is actually pro and sell it! Sure not everyone will buy it, but if you make a great product that is worth it and will last, you’ll gain a few high quality of customer!

wish the HDMI did 4k@60hz. Lot's of VJs out there, not just DJs. I plug into video processors for massive LED walls at shows all the time that need to be 4k60. Also really annoying you didn't even mention the price only told everyone to go to your website to see that. I'm definitely not going to give your website clicks now.
@digitaldjtips5 күн бұрын
Hear what you're saying about the HDMI. It's not something that we use here, so we wouldn't have picked up on that. And if you prefer not to click through to find the current prices on our website, that's absolutely fine. We do it that way because prices change and we can keep them updated. Totally get it - thanks for watching the video.

The best stand/hub, is NO stand/ hub. Its 2025, we need more standalone systems to ditch the damn laptop. 😂😂😂
@digitaldjtips4 күн бұрын
Good to have a choice though, and one of the problems with some standalone systems is that the screen's too far away from you and too small, so it would actually be quite nice if you could have a pop-up screen that you could then position in front of you!
