As someone who can’t instantly tell what key a track is in, the endless possibilities of the step tempo is amazing as you could use it with master tempo to mix songs that wouldn’t usually be in key and actually have it dead on just by adjusting the bpm while leaving one track on master tempo so they lets align. Pioneer is certainly making a statement in 2023. This looks incredible but its not enough to pull me away from my CDJs. As for the price- if you compare it to the price of the recently re released Technics then consider all the extra features of the Pioneer player, it's fairly priced.

He forgot to mention that when you 're working without the tonearm, the software is on DVS mode (absolute or reltive) and not on internal mode. This means that this unit is not actually a controller in that mode but it's using a control signal that is been send by the rca plugs without the use of vinyl and without usb been plugged. It's DVS on both situations.

I got a PLX-1000 and had to sell it back after a few weeks. Nothing related to warranty covered issues. Problems came from the very conception of the product. 1) The deck is heavy, yet its isolation is really bad; 2) Pitch resolution is so raw that one has to keep on syncing records for lack of a midpoint; 3) The lamp jumps up to quickly that a big noise corrupts the smoothness of a running music; 4) Wow & Flutter is about 0.05-0.08, far from the declared 0.01. For a comparison, my Technics SL 1200 MK2 scores 0.02-0.03%. The new PLX-CRSS12 seems to have all these issued unresolved. Moreover, declared Wow & Flutter is 0.15 !!! Last, from this video, I note the tremendous delay at showing a speed change caused by moving the pitch control unit. For me, this is enough to prevent from me to buy this new turntable.

It's nice to see Pioneer DJ taking this kind of direction, but the price... for that kind of money you got 2 RP8000MK2 + Phase (even the 4 remote version) and you still got money for a good scratch mixer. Lot of way they could done that better, like using the same layout as the RP8000 for the little pad (Reloop make them bigger on the MK2 for a reason), put the little control next to the target light instead of under the tonearm, and why not make this little magnet thing (which seems like a great idea anyway) the same size as the 45rpm adapter so it can be use that way. The pitch step is also something great that should be on every player, more intuitive than having a separate tone control. I'm waiting to see how those can handle rumble, as the PLX aren't great with that. (also, why Pioneer alway find long complicated name with letter that no one know what they mean :) )

I guess it's not a ludicrous price given it's doing double duty, albeit stripped back. It really would nearly halve the required space for people who have proper controllers plus traditional decks. It seems odd to me if it's designed to be run in battle mode to not make the unit marginally wider and move the pitch control down to the right like all other modern controllers. Plenty of other things have been changed why not adjust the form factor so you don't have to reach back behind the tonearm? Suddenly you can move the small screen up so it's not set under the tonearm anymore.

I'm also not a fan of battle mode, but it seems like the target audience for a product like this is the die-hard turntable using crowd, which leans towards turntablism/hi-hop scratch Djing (why else are they holding onto their 12" decks for so long...). I wish this CRSS-12 could have been designed so the visual cues work well in either format but... I'm not sure how that would've been possible.

Important question I'm hoping you can clarify for me, I skipped the Rane 12 MKi because I don't prefer HID control at a 12" platter size. Currently own a Rane 12 MKii and love it since it actually puts out a timecode signal. Been harassing a company called Skratch Attach for a Rane 12 version of the magnetic tone arms they make for the Rane One (they claim its on the way) hoping I can cobble together something exactly like this. Does this CRSS12 actually output a timecode signal? Or are we just using an HID connection when disabling the tone arm? On a side note, I bought a Reloop 8000 and love the look and feel of it, but have had nothing but trouble with the midi connection when playing out live causing me to pull the midi plug and use it as just a standard turntable. It has been so consistently bad I had to stop taking it out to live gigs. Breaks my heart as I waited a long time to cop one expecting it to be my dream deck but now I just want to get rid of it. @@digitaldjtips We need a silent cue, a sync button, key lock, pitch bend etc. not another way to trigger hot cue. I don’t understand why they choose always the same shortcuts layout, it's a turntable! I need CDJ buttons not DJM on that part of my set-up, even REV7 have more interesting stuff around the plater

Is it more accurate wen using the magvel clamp instead of standard DVS mode, time code vinyl wen mixing , even tho they are both DVS control , how well the pitch fader performs , ?
@digitaldjtips Жыл бұрын
Just as accurate, pitch control is excellent

Can i use this as an extra deck while using my opus quad, for example set it as deck 3 and control rekordbox deck three and have my opus working as deck 1-2-4, so basically controlling deck three using the digital deck the crss 12 has and the other decks with the opus and both devices connected to rekord box

Possibly, not tried that

@@digitaldjtips Just wondering because in another video I saw that it can control the cues and loops and stems of the other deck but not the actual platter part get what I'm saying? So I'm just trying to confirm this because I want to switch from a controller to turntables again as I do have a lot of vinyl and it would be nice to throw in a vinyl here and there at a live show.

Thanks for this. But I'm having an issue with my pair. I have them connected to my S11 via RCA and USB but when I have a song rolling on deck 1 and then change the deck from 1 to 3, it's still controlling what's on deck 1 on the platter, and not allowing me access to deck 3 (despite that it says it's set to deck 3)... What am I doing wrong? Or is this a known issue? Because I can't figure out where I'm going wrong. I just tried this on my Rev5 and it works fine. Is it something to do with the S11? I'm also wondering if stem level control via the EQs is an option on the S11 like it is on the Rev5? Any help on this stuff is greatly appreciated.
Those dust covers would offend me, everything on those decks is designed to be used battle style, except the dust covers, the Pioneer logo is the wrong way round...

They are designed to work with Serato DJ Pro or Rekordbox software if you want to use the digital functions.

To be honest I don’t see why they don’t have a usb drive input with a small touch screen for browsing the files. This would be a game changer. If I could just have tracks on a usb same as xdj or cdj and insert into the turntable

That would make it a completely different (and much more expensive) product - though as you say, a great one!
