This ranks up there with one of the BEST games I ever played. It ranks as one of my top 10 and I have played A LOT of games. We're going towards the PS5 era and I STILL say this! It was very well made. And oddly, a lot of people didn't know about this game. it seems like on the Genesis, they put special effort into Disney games and sports games.

As a Canadian, I didn't really know much about Donald Duck as a kid. I used to think he was the poor mans Daffy Duck, because all I ever saw him in was a very minor role in Ducktales, and as the butt of jokes in the occasional Disney special I caught, I really missed out. I didn't get to play the Sega Disney games back in the day, but that experience of feeling of the cartoon being playable for me came from The Magical Quest on SNES. Great episode guys, the co-op idea is good too. Looking forward to the PDF, maybe with a bit of work you guys can turn it into a video?

Did anyone else grew up reading the italian Paperinik/PKNA/Duck Avenger comics as a kid? I was absolutely blown away by those comics. Believe it or not they portrait Donald Duck as superhero in this sci-fi cyberpunk future and deals with aliens, cyborgs humanity and all around fairly adult themes. Basically Donald Duck comics, but based on the american superhero formula. I almost can't believe it even existed and yeah I had a pretty different relationship to Donald Duck because of it.

I just love the Japanese attitude: "they're not real seals", this goes to show how much more free they are to express themselves. Ant it also explains why manga and anime are so popular: their authors are not forced to beat you in the head (pun intended) with morals.

I think the impression of how DD was and the reason why he became a mostly different character in Europe is because the later introduction there, so it was the Barks dock from the start being the thing. This then expanded with him being further developed after the Barks model, and for this european perception, making him often a pure adventurer character closer to for example Tintin. These stories were mostly produced in Italy I think, and these were distributed in massive pocket books (with around 300 pages) so more similar to the japanese type comic publication than either typical american or european comics. DD in these was often in big adventures in all kinds of genres. Often as a sort of anti hero Batman characters, which I think there are games about as well.
