Ronnie is so humble and a role model. Nobody these days would humble themselves to work dominos, newspaper....
@bobjohn12343 жыл бұрын
Im not sure i would call ronnie a role model.i watched his documentary king ronnie or something and to see him constantly not listening to his body and trying to train hard after back surgery and him hearing the screws popping in his spine i found tragic and quite frankly very selfish.he has to think of his children now rather than trying to still cling on to his Olympia days.i agree he seems he came across as a good hearted man and as a bodybuilder he will probably be unmatched but ronnie needs to stop trying to cling on to size that was never his anyway.just let it go ronnie and enjoy life with your children.they are what really matters in life.
@thelastshallbefirst36533 жыл бұрын
@@bobjohn1234 we have to sympathize though. Imagine being a champion for many years, and now you have to operate like a mere mortal. Not an easy life transition, and many champions have said they traveled dark roads after retirement.

@@thelastshallbefirst3653 i understand my friend but anyone who has children understands the needs of them should always come first.all i care about now is seeing him healthy with his family.just like dorian yates.as i say in his documentary he seems like a lovely fella and probably is the greatest bodybuilder of all time he was out of this world, .but that is in the past,i just want to see him healthy.i think ego is getting in the way and that is dangerous.i want to see him follow dorians example who has transitioned wonderfully.nice interview here with shawn ray.i just want to see the king in the best of health,living as long as possible,but enjoying his kids because they matter more than anything.

@@bobjohn1234 ronnie colman , one of the greatest champions ever and also imho one of the most simple dumb people to ever win anything which he went on to prove throughout the years unnecessarily destroying himself while leaving 8 kids with a crippled father for absolutely no reason besides the ignorance and simple minded approach that innitially with his great genetics put him on the top. Shawn I'm a little disappointed you didn't know that Shawn Rhoden is now the oldest he beat Dickerson. I was at that 91 Olympia. I wonder what Ronnie's favorite memory from that one was🤔 that was an amazing line-up!
@YeahRight8253 жыл бұрын
I was at the '91 Olympia also (I live in FL), mainly because Vince Taylor is a personal friend of mine. I used to work at the gym he trained at in South FL all throughout his heyday in the sport (all throughout the 90's). That Olympia was so incredible on so many different levels. It was Haney's last Olympia, he also breaks Arnold's record, Dorian's first Olympia (comes in 2nd), and Vince came in 3rd next to those two which speaks volumes of how good he was at that show. Plus, it was the first time Vince unveiled his famous Terminator routine, which as you know, absolutely brought down the house in Orlando. Nobody expected it, of course, since it was the first time anyone ever witnessed it. That place went absolutely Berserk during that routine, and that's an understatement lol.
@latman13 жыл бұрын
@@YeahRight825 You got that right! I got one of my best memories when I ran down to the stage when Haney and Dorian were called for a rear lat spread. that's the only photo that came out clear of my several rolls I took. I was 20. It was the first professional show that I attended I've been to many since but nothing has compared! Vince is a cool cat I always liked him one of the best ever!
@YeahRight8253 жыл бұрын
@@latman1 That's awesome! Yes, we were very very lucky to have been at that particular Olympia. It was very historic, and I'll never forget it, that's for sure lol. And yes he is, Vince is a super cool guy, and a great personal friend. We met in 1990 when he joined our gym (it was a Gold's in Pembroke Pines, FL), so we've known each other for 31 years now. I can't believe that I'm even saying that, it seems like yesterday lol.

Arnold had an excellent physique that not only looked athletic, but also healthy. He had a flat stomach, no gyno and proportions that were very flattering to the eyes. His legs were exactly how he wanted them to be and they fit his frame perfectly. Ronnie's had some freaky body parts but ruined his body with excessive drugs, causing a big stomach, gyno and serious long term health problems. Arnold did it right, Ronnie did it wrong.
@flatmatrix3603 жыл бұрын
@@bigmacdaddy1234 i agree with pretty much all you said except all the top men did it right back then and all the top guy's now do it wrong. Not just Arnold or Ronnie. If Arnold was competing now he too would have messed up his body eventually and as driven as he was probably very quickly. It's the era along with genetics not the wisdom of these guys.

@@flatmatrix360 Arnold retired from competing at the age of 28 to pursue Hollywood and business. He could have easily continued to win a couple of more Olympia's but he was smart enough to know when to leave the stage. I call that wisdom.

You've got to remember that Jason Blaha the famous youtube and internet liar said that he was one of the biggest bodybuilders in the world at one time, and there was only two people who could really compete against each other. Blaha himself, and Ronnie Coleman. And when asked for proof, he said the "internet wasn't popular then", and all the pictures he had of himself while being big like Ronnie Coleman were "burnt up in a fire". PS- he never competed in anything except for a couple participation medals for powerlifting. What an ass.

@Talibiden Good question. I like that I have that little thing in common with Ronnie Coleman. Shawn Ray expressed how unusual it is for a grown man to be delivering newspapers. I did all of those things while being a single dad. It’s an unusual lifestyle but it’s cool that I have a little something in common with the one of my favorite bodybuilders. Olympia. Lightweight, baby. Ain't nothing but a peanut.
@thelastshallbefirst36533 жыл бұрын
@@stevegeorge6880 people think that of Yates because he came from a poor and troubled childhood and he made something of himself. @@clenbuterol4989 depends on what the judges are looking for on any given day. I don't doubt that Phil Heath best would be very competitive with Ronnie Coleman's best. I'm also not saying that one would have to train like Ronnie Coleman to succeed like Ronnie Coleman did. Except for some minor lower back issues after he retired, Lee Haney came out relatively injury-free. For that matter, Ronnie Coleman's injuries may have had somewhat less to do with the extremely heavy weights he used than they did with the less-than-perfect textbook form he moved them with. Still, there is something admirable in being that dedicated and hard-working even if it should be tempered with better judgment regarding application.
