I have had the RP255, then the RP355 and finally I Just got this pedal used and I am really enjoying it..way more control. Just wanted to add something in regards to the user guide. I think the manual misses a very elementary information about how to switch between banks..to an absurd level..so when you're on PRESET mode, you basically need to do a two stage operation In order to switch between banks: press up or down switch to the desired bank, and IMMEDIATELY press any footswitch 1 to 5..if you don't do the latter, the RP500 will not switch banks..and the switches will blink for a second or two and stay in the previous bank.I know..kinda stupid, but it's NOT on the manual. also, Could be REALLY nice if the pedal would have a foot switch in order to switch between pedal/preset mode. Just my 2 cents;)

I've been using the RP500 for about 11 years. It took a very long time to get it dialed in to get it to sound good and EQ out the flub and nasal tone. However it is now old tech. Has anyone compared this to the Boss GX-100? I would presume the modeling would sound even better with the GX.
@gearfacts2 жыл бұрын
I've never tried a GX but yep the whole digital effects / multi-fx paradigm has improved since the release of this pedal.

How do you switch off the automatic switch to wah when then expression is engaged fully?
@yehat176 жыл бұрын
You turn off the wah by pressing the expression pedal all the way toe down, it triggers a wah on/off switch that you can use in any patch.

@instrumentalistjade83678 жыл бұрын
boss me 80 is not good. this has more to offer
@gearfacts8 жыл бұрын
Very different pedals. The ME80 is more rowdy and less predictable so for me, it's the winner as I like things that way. But if you want precision then the RP500 might serve you better. Totally different personalities: The RP is a scalpel, the ME is a broadsword. Hope that helps and thanks for watching Gearfacts :)

can you assign different custom effects to the front five footswitches?
@yehat176 жыл бұрын
The switches can be used to change patches or toggle on/off effects. So in pedal board mode, the Distortion button 2 will turn off/on distortion and everything else remains the same. Reverb, fx, compressor, delay also. The wah can be used in any patch, press toe down all the way on the expression pedal and it's a wah on/off button. Every patch you can set a whole different setup of amps, pedals etc..

Should I buy the Digitech RP 500 or the Zoom g3x ? Help please!
@gearfacts8 жыл бұрын
Federico AT tough choice! If you are a conservative player who likes to practice and perform classic songs, then I'd go for the rp500. If you are innovative and looking for new ideas and a unique sound then go for the G3. Focus on the ENJOYMNENT you'll get from a pedal, not just on its specifications. Good luck and thanks for watching Gearfacts!
@greatvanzini8 жыл бұрын
I bought a G3x a little over a year ago. I loved it. Note the word "Loved" The right screen went just after a year (& warranty) so I'm down to two screens instead of 3. It still works I just don't know which pedal I have called up in the right window. After doing a search on the net I found it happens more often that you'd think. That said I was able to dial in some of my fairly expensive "NAME BRAND" pedals & absolutely nail them with the Zoom. I could not however copy my TC Spark Boost or my Hyper Gravity compressor. I attribute it to weak power supply that would go out off & on. Not sure but I think it just had a bit of a surge & wham!

Ok that's interesting, i have never heard of that screen problem. buyer beware! Thanks for watching Gearfacts :)

Which would you say has the better amp/drive sounds between this and the Zoom G7?
@gearfacts9 жыл бұрын
+surfdigby Great question - It's very subjective. They really do sound very different. The RP500 has undeniable accuracy if you want to reproduce a particular sound. The G7 isn't an imitator though, it wills you to achieve your own sound. That's why I prefer the G7. But to say it's "better" would be an over-simplification. Hope that helps!

I like making noise and vintage pedals. The RP-500 does both of these in a great format without having to find every old and expensive pedal. If you're not having fun while you're making music you're not doing it right.
@DCsharpnell3 жыл бұрын
Compared to modern Boss and Line 6 amp models are a bit artificial sounding. Personally I feel if you have couple decent amps you are good. That being said RP series still offers great value for the money

Well I have bought it now and I have to say I am a very satisfied customer.Give yourself a pat on the back. @gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
Hmm not sure, I didn't ever connect it to my PC. I suspect Digitech might have a generic program that communicates with the RP500 as a patch librarian. As for recording though, you should be able to just store Audacity (free), plug in with USB and the RP500 will appear as an input option.
