Thanks. I'm really considering getting this instead of a bunch of pedals and I figured the onboard distortion of this would get me a much cleaner sound. IE: No more background hiss from my amp.

ok I did some more researching on this and learned a little more about the distortion effects when mixing them with your distorted amp. I realize I can actually use the tube screamer to tighten up my sound a bit and instead use the volume pedal for a boost. my next question is how does this effect your tone if you put it through the front end of the amp?. I have a Dunlop Cry Baby wah and when i place it in the front end i can hear a slight change in tone when its switched off

@Vintagekieran Yeah, they are great multi-effects boards. I had a RP350 before and when I go the 500 I realized how much I missed out with the other pedal. I am more of a metalhead so I have settings for Lamb of God, Devildriver, Bullet For My Valentine, etc and they sound incredible. One I like a lot was mocking Eddie Van Halen's settings. With a little tinkering I have three settings that sound perfectly (as close as you can get on a multi-effects board at least) like the album on all four!

@bharmin You go to the solodelay preset then you click store, then name it, then simply click up or down to move it where you want to put it. Hope that helps. If not I'll help you still.

Hi, Your english is excellent. Can this unit be used with the 4 cable method like the RP1k? I mean, I want to use my Marshalls power amp only and have the modeling and preamps available using the RP500? Is this possible, or does one need to use the RP1k? Thanks in advance. :

Unfortunately the RP355 is not available from the stores in here. I will upgrade my amp in the future so maybe the RP500 would be a more intelligent investement. I also like its layout and the vacuum switches seem a lot more durable than plastic switches on the RP350. Anyway thanks for the reply :-p

@ralfjung thats what i did in a shop where i tried the digitech. I used a laney V300's FX loop return to conect the digitech. The DigSolo seemed the best marshall like model, can you tell me more by your experience? JCM800 sounded too fizzy :S

nice review was thinking about getting the rp355 but you convinced me on the rp500. Just one question, if I play live and want to use the whammy effect right after the Wah is it possible to use one of the stomp buttons to switch between them?

Hi there, question... I thought that if you use the bypass you wouldn't change the clean tone of the guitar straight to the amp, while still being able to use effects? I want to be able to turn all the effects off and get the exact same tone I do when it's just my guitar and the amp... thanks...

hi ralfjung. i like your vids. they helped me to get an rp355. question. is there a way to recreate the settings you use for this video at about 5:04 on an rp 355? i really liked that sound. you referred to a wh-4 pedal. any help would be great...thanks again for the videos and keep them coming.

Hey Dude ive been checking out your videos recently and they are really helpful! If you're using one of the amp models can you switch back and forth between distorted and clean like using a two channel amp? Or would you have to turn the modeling off and use a distortion pedal sound?

hey man can you create a preset in the digitech rp500 with like Chorus+Delay? (in the manual said you could only use one effect at once) or Phaser + Flanger + Reverb?

hey i have a question and i issue well... i have a fender telecaster j5 made in mexico that i bought like 1 month ago... and when im playing my ear is always hurting cause it sounds too bright and also i made some change into the pedal like lowering the treble addding bass and less middle too but it still too bright... im thinking of selling the pedal cause i think that's the problem but maybe you can help me out here... please.... i dont know what to think anymore...

About the LFO's in the RP500, once you assign an LFO to a parameter, can you also assign the expression pedal to another parameter? So for example, can you assign the expression pedal to control the LFO speed?

if i run this throught the effects loop in my amp, can i use one of the overdrive pedals (tubescreamer for example) as a boost for my solos when i play live or would it just screw up my sound. would i have to buy a real tubescreamer and put it throught the front end of my amp?

@ralfjung okkkkkk i tried the factory reset and nothing change.... my wah is off and with other guitar sounds a little bit less bright but not the big difference.... i went to the music center today and they told me the guitar is in a good shape (sorry i speak spanish i try harder to speak clearly you know) anyway tell me how can i decrease the bright of my preset thank you for replying and by the way you are a good player...

can this be used with any amp? for example a 15 watt?

Dave Muñoz yes you can. I highly reccomend at least a 50 so you can get a full, crisp, and clear tone. As 10 & 15 is what I staeted out with, they tend to muffle the sound a bit.

Thanks for your valuable input...smile....I have been slaughtered because of that faux pas (that is pronounced fo-pah) for literally pages ever since. I speak 3 languages and in two it is pronounced the way I falsly pronounce it in this video...since I talk free w/o a concept I do make mistakes. I am glad you did not mention all the other mistakes I made.. But after all it is the content and information that matters and you did understand didnt you?
