The digivolving Guardromon is the only digivolving figure I have in my possession (still in pretty good condition), my father bought it for me around 2012, 2013, mint in box. Since this was in the time before I took collecting seriously (I was still a teen at the time) I foolishly unpacked and played with it. It now sits in a toy box somewhere with my Digimon Adventure Digidestined figures. This has since become one of my greatest regrets.

The transformation is basic shellforming and the Andromon mode still has a ridiculous backpack. It might become somewhat decent thanks to the paint, details and articulation, but I still don't think it would be able to compete with the other figures in the line.

Well, I now have an idea of Souchaku Henshin or Saint Cloth Myth line, but for Digimon. You know, detachable “armors” that is kibbles like we did for Spirit Evolution toys, and a display stand for support. I don’t mind it being a premium bandai goods tho

Another Digivolving figure I used to own when I was a kid. And on a sidenote, I don't believe my figure had the hip problems you mentioned. I don't fully remember, since I lost that figure years ago, but I believe I remember enjoying the figure.

Sadly, most of them are like this even straight out of the packaging. Don't take my word for it, look at the other review on KZbin or search for pictures online.

@@Actar_Raikit That's very disconcerting if it truly IS in fact GPS, since that just means that sooner or later, it's going to break even if you are careful with it. Like the other person you're responding to, I also had this figure when I was a kid, and mine didn't have that issue with the joints, I guess I got lucky, somehow.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones, because the one I used to own never suffered from the egregious hip joint issue that was shown prominently in this video. Having said that, I can see why it's such a big problem in Andromon mode, but that mode already has enough problems with it without adding that on top of everything else

If the Guardromon parts could be made into like a arsenal backpack and the arms looking like cannons it could be a pretty cool figure but yeah then way bigger and stedier legs are needed. Might as well do like a Digi tama and just remove the Guardromon fro the transformation. I remember as a kid wishing for a Palmon to Lillymon figure and my idea was a shell figure. Yeah, pretty much. I actually owned the figure when I was a kid, and I always thought that the Andromon mode was the weaker of the 2 specifically for that very reason. Looking back on it, the reason why they most likely prioritized the Guardromon mode was because that was the form it spent most of the series in; in the character's debut episode, he started as an Andromon, but after fighting and losing (I forget to what opponent, exactly), he de-digivolved into Guardromon. From there, he never digivolved back into Andromon, sadly, and seemed to mostly just be around for comic relief

I seem to remember the Guardromon mold being reused for a stand-alone figure as it didn't have the Andromon mode. I don't think the same happened for the other portion though. And it was a lot shorter and stubbier.

The standing is really annoying though, I shouldn't have to say thing but: you really need to use a stand for this, but that the figure itself shouldn't need one in the first place! Still, not as bad as the Digivolving Leomon one. But if we're comparing it to that, we really hit the bottom of expectations >.>

Haha, the thing is, it's not a design flaw that causes him to fall over, but a more fundamental issue with the material of the figure being brittle. As there are many reported cases of the plastics degrading even in the package, even a stand won't prevent the figures legs from falling off with time. I can't in good conscience give the figure a pass if the mere act of playing with it (its main function) could possibly destroy it.

That's also a major problem with the Kabuterimon figure: the MegaKabuterimon mode is pretty much folded up into a giant backpack in Kabuterimon mode. But at least the MegaKabuterimon mode still looks pretty great, so you can tell where they decided to cut corners with that one

By worst, I mean worst in the line. Comparatively. Every figure is more or less "fixable" if you take the time and effort to do so. The thing is, all the other figures require less fixing (or no fixing at all) to be decent (or even great). Also, I don't think the onus should fall on the consumer to fix a company's faulty product.
