Epic guide! A few more things could be added like hover mode, moving power to front shields and turning off systems to overcharge the mining laser. There's also an ideal power bracket when scanning a rock. Wish I had found this tutorial a lot earlier, subscribed 😁

hi ... got a quick tip I discovered. You're right ... those money rocks have a propensity for hiding under worthless rocks sometimes. In your video, you mentioned rooting the rocks out of the way with the mining head. I think I have an easier way. Do you know what happens when you fracture a purple rock? When it reaches 100% ... it vaporizes and disappears. Just set your laser throttle to 0% and fire the laser up. The first thing you'll notice is the green (always mine in the green) and red zones are not shown on the meter, but they are still there. Slowly increase the throttle and the meter will be white as to starts on the left and grows to the right. Once it hits the green zone it will turn green. Stay out of the red and when you reach 100%, it'll just go puff and disappear. Just keep vaping those worthless or low value purple rocks out of the way until you get down to what you're looking for. Discovered in 3.9 and still works in 3.10. Only tried in the Prospector with the Helix mining head (size 1 ... thanks for saving me 108K aUEC) Candi

I am not sure if others know this the red lining can also be useful if you wish to separate the rocks a little, basically i use it to spread the rocks out a little, just a touch of redline causes the rocks to blow apart giving access to all the rocks so no awkward strafing around the rock to find the rocks that shattered on the far side. Too much redline however and you are picking rocks out from between your teeth.

So ive been trading goods for awhile with my FreeLancer MAX and my goal was to get to 1.5mil and took me about a month to get to 500K+(cant remember cuz ive been buying shit lately. And then i picked up mining 3 days ago, upgraded to the Helix1. In 2 days i made 1.3mil. Mining is OP when you mine clean. 75+% ONLY Laranite/Agricium is the way. Bexalite if it spawns in Yela once in a while. but yeah, I made a chunk of money mining clean in just 2 days.

1. A few pieces of advice for new mole pilots: Fly in F4 mode over plains, the rocks will appear before the graphics update so you can pick out piles from a distance. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmKToGSflMmni7c 2. Rules of Thumb for breaking rocks, never break anything that generates less than 150 Mass of Argric or Laranite and never pick up a piece of Laranite or Agric less than 30 percent. 95 percent agric or laranite pure cargo is worth over 200k a run.

Good cover of the details. However like most people, you didn't cover the importance of resistance and instability of deposits. There are techniques you can do manually to stabilize the energy input into your ore. I'm sure you've noticed how highly unstable rocks are really 'jumpy' when you try to charge them. The right technique can cut mining time in half or even a quarter. Though I'm not going to straight up tell you. Try some stuff out, most of the techniques are easy to figure out. Like any job time is money. The faster you crack the deposits, the faster you can move on to the next one.

On the prospector you need to replace the power plant as well. The Lotus is (IMHO) the best choice. Otherwise you will burn out you power plant and be dead in the water. Yes, you can try and watch the temperature to keep from doing that, but the screens are bugged and don't work half the time, and often scroll out of sight when they DO work. (Yes, I've burned out the power plant more than once, especially with the original laser head).

The one thing these guides always leave out is that all the effort you put into mining is pointless because there's usually some douchebag waiting around to blow you up for no reason. Forcing me into PvP, especially where I'm not going to have any chance of survival, let alone victory, is the one thing that will absolutely force me out of the game... and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Haven't had issues with asteroid mining, they may have fixed it. Nice tip for the rucksack. Daymar we get blown up trying to mine there, kind of risky. Helix 2's make unstable rocks much better, and the affects seem to stack when you're using multiple lasers, so you can have someone else put another laser on a rock at low power to make the rock easier to mine.

The helix paid for itself in about and hour. And you DO NEED THE HELIX. With the normal mining head I was pulling in about 12-15k a load and with the helix easily 50-75k

Bro I feel it is very hard to find rocks, not only for those worth mining, sometimes it takes me around 5 mins scanning and not a single rock shows up.I fly below altitude 1200, usually around 700. Speed below red line.any cure for this :(
