I grew up with King's Quest games and it sure was fun and interesting to play though King's Quest V was my favorite. I thank you for the information and the story of King Edward. I had no idea that even was there. Thanks for the memories and fun LPs

@PeterBrainTV You mean the music I used in the intro? That's "Fantasia on Greensleeves" by R. Vaughan Williams. In the original version, Greensleeves was the opening music for King's Quest (and it's the opening music for KQ2 as well), hence this choice was fairly obvious. :)

I played an Apple IIe(?) version that I only had access to once a month at a cousin's house. In between the few hours of playtime, this inspired many other 'point and click adventure' ideas in my young mind.

Im from Finland and I noticed that there is Finlands flag on the castles wall in the original version of Kings Quest, I wonder if there is reason for it or if it's just coincidence. Im really grateful that you're doing great let's plays for old adventure games, rock on!

@Bajamamut For 480p videos, Xvid is probably your best bet. For 720p videos, I use x264 (KZbin does not like x264 with 480p videos and messes them up, so only use it for 720p), which are typically much smaller. Please note that it does also take *much* longer to encode with x264 (on my PC, a typical 720p video might take 15-20 minutes with Xvid and 60-120 minutes with x264).

Oh absolutely.! There's something to playing modern rpgs and jrpgs, but this rivals those, even in modern day. All the writing, and the descriptions, and the backstory... few games can compare with how these original games were made. It's kind of like comparing black and white movies to colour. Yeah, the colour movies are newer and they have an entirely different set of values, black and white are the originals. They're good without all the gimmicks colour movies rely on.

sierra didn't make Space Quest 7 or Space Quest the Lost Chapter (which takes place after SQ 2 but before SQ 3) either but as far as they are concerned they can be considered official games because the story linked so well with the official games there was no contradiction.

2:30 I am pretty sure that "Sir Knight" is the default honorific for a knight if you don't know his name yet. That's why Graham calls him that. If anyone's interested in the story of a young woman becoming the first female knight of her land, read or listen to the Song of the Lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce. 🛡🗡

Also if you don't know you can find the complete Kings Quest, Space Quest, Quest For Glory, Police Quest, and other classic Adventure games, even the orginal Zork trilogy on GOG for 9.99 and under and Steam has some of the old Lucas Arts ones, not many just five or six or so.

I'm using an xvid format in which to record my videos right now, so I get videos of 200 Mb aprox for each 15 minutes of KZbin video, but takes a really long time for me to upload. Could you give me any advice on how to make smaller videos, perhaps another encoding or reencoding method? Thanks in advace ^_^

Yeah dying on the first screen sucks but at least you can see the obviously deadly serpents so it makes some sense that you die if you fall in.

If you mean adventure games they have been for a long time if you meant Sierra ones they are sorta Al Lowe creator of Leisure Suit Larry got the rights to make Larry games again and he's starting with re-remaking the first one, The Two Guy's From Andromida/Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy creators of Space Quest are making a new space adventure game, Jane Jensen creator of Gabriel Knight has been making new adventures for a few years now, Lori Ann Cole creator of Quest For Glory is making a new game

LOL, the greatest misfortune to hit Daventry was King Edward himself, :P , a prosperous country for hundreds of yeas, till his reign that is. I'm not sure if the writers know what Benevolent means. Incompetent fits King Edward better. And how was he not overthrown by other nobles after losing the Mirror, is beyond me.
