You're one of the very few youtubers who consider reality checks a more advanced way of lucid dreaming. In most tutorials it's said to be a must and as equally important as journaling. However I've found that I can do WBTB successfully without having to do reality checks all day. For me it seems that using mantras as I'm going asleep gives me the mental awareness for dreaming to get lucidity. From my small experience with lucid dreaming, dream journaling is definitely more important.
@Tipharot8 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. While I think everyone should really be doing reality checks anyway if they're serious about lucid dreaming (since why neglect anything that increases your chances?) - the 80/20 principle applies. 20% of the things you do to lucid dream will get you 80% of your lucid dreams, and the other 80% will only get you 20% of them. So focusing on the 20% that get the results is going to be more productive for a beginner - which is stuff like WBTB, MILD, FILD etc. :)

I haven't ever had hypnosis work for me. I'm the analytical type, I know exactly all the little tricks to use to bring someone under, and so I've never been under myself, to my knowledge. However, last night, because I generally have a better experience with hypnosis tracks where of the hypnotist is someone am I developed a rapport with, like a KZbin personality like yourself, I decided to give your 20 minute lucid dreaming hypnosis track a try. I didn't go under, but I did find that when I meditated after the session, I finally found meditation kind of easy. Thoughts seemed farther away and my breathing seemed closer and more present. Still haven't had my first lucid dream, probably because I regularly partake in a rem suppressant. But I have no worries and I'm on my way. Thanks again sir, greetings from Detroit.

Does anyone have an answer as to why this happens? my two lucid dreams were dild but I wanna have a mild successfully. I watched your video on it like 8 times and I have trouble not drifting off to sleep as I repeat the mantra. I've been trying to mild for 2 months. please help!
@Tipharot8 жыл бұрын
It's okay to drift off to sleep while repeating the mantra. That's absolutely fine :) In fact most people suggest to do that: To keep performing the mantra until you drift off to sleep. If you're still not having lucid dreams, then it's likely you're not in the REM stage when you're performing MILD. The REM stage is necessary for lucid dreams to happen, so try adjusting the amount of time you sleep before performing the method. 6 hours works for most people, but it might be 6 hours 30 minutes for you for example. Hope this helps!

Hey, im new to lucid dreaming. Id love to try dild technique because wild seems to risky for me. I dont usually realise if im dreaming/had a dream, can you help me with this, i think this can really help me as a person to enjoy and appreciate sleep to reduce stress. :)
@giantsboy30687 жыл бұрын
The point of reality checks is that you practice doing them regularly throughout the day even when you don't think you're dreaming. The idea is that you will form habits and you will end up doing one in a dream just by habit. You don't have to know you're in a dream to do them. When you do one in a dream you will realize you are dreaming and become lucid

You are a bit wrong about the "finger through the palm" check.I have done it in a dream and it didn't go through but the sensation was weird.
@Tipharot8 жыл бұрын
As I mentioned in the video - the checks don't always work. Usually your finger will go straight through the palm, but sometimes it won't. That's why you chain multiple reality checks, because //one// of them will eventually tip you off that you're dreaming. If you just do one reality check - a lot of the time it'll just behave as normal and you'll think you're awake and won't become lucid :p
@Tipharot8 жыл бұрын
I definitely have had many occasions like that where I'll be reading about lucid dreaming before going to bed, and I don't even apply a method or utilise any reality checks but I just become lucid in the dreams because my mind was thinking about lucid dreaming before bed. I find that sometimes when I get into a lucid dream I'll still be focused on my real body in bed. Which can mean feeling the unpleasant sensations of sleep paralysis - or alternatively, being able to move your real body and waking up as soon as you try to move. The way I get around this is if I can feel my real body, I try and wait 30-60 seconds, doing nothing in the dream until I can no longer feel both bodies. Then I go about the dream as normal. If the dream starts fading/breaking down during that time, you can try rubbing your hands together - since in my experience for some reason even if you can feel your normal body, it's usually your dream hands that move if you try to move your hands. Good luck :)

Meditation belongs to no belief system. Whether you're an Atheist, a Christian, a Buddhist, an Agnostic, or belong to any other faith or belief system, meditation works just the same. You can meditate for spiritual reasons, to get closer to your faith, if you feel so compelled - but meditation absolutely doesn't have to be even remotely spiritual. It is simply the act of learning to relax the mind, become present in the moment, and experience without entertaining thought.
Yeah I am atheist and meditation has really little to do with religion. You can basicly meditate while you pray too. Check out some tutorials here on youtube if you are kinda confused. It's really much simpler than what it sounds
