Let's talk about dilithium farming.

While doing these doff missions, you will end up with a boatload of prisoners. While doing the doffing, in those two sectors, check the 'tactical' and 'current map' sections as well for opportunities to consign prisoners to hard labour. These doff missions reward 500 dil, and help to burn through all those prisoners you'll get.

You can also sell them for EC on the exchange for at least 10,000 a piece.

Deporting Colonists under current map/colonial also grants 500 dil.

@@mrtencza You can but the worse exchange aka the 10 prisoner for 1000 dil and even buying the lowest return zen item (masterkeys) you are still losing money even when converting at 500 dil:1 zen by nearly half aka each prisoner should be worth at least 20k ec. The 1000 dil for 10 prisoner mission is actually quite bad as it also has the highest failure rate the other two big ones almost never fail and get you 25% or more dil per prisoner on a non crit.

@@chrisrawr6177 We gain so many prisoners from marauder missions as well as all the prisoners from doing Admiralty so I don't see how we are losing if we are getting prisoners free anyway. We may as well do the "consign prisoners to labor battalion" doff mission even if there is a 28% (or so) failure rate.

You can dump up to 64 of them in colonization efforts, if the fleet is running it.

Ganalda station is a far better base for your farmers. It has a security officer, exchange, bank, mail, etc. Nice an quiet everything is close by and you start in the right sector block.

The doff assignment "Track Fleet Movement" will also reward two contraband on a critical result. It is not that much, but every bit helps.

I need to get off my butt and farm up some contraband to divy up between all my alts since I have the Kobayashi Maru Freighter. Atm all my unused slots are taken up waiting for double XP weekend, to give my (friends & family, so painfully small) fleet a boost from Delta/Gamma account rewards. After that I think I'll start this JH contraband mill. I never thought to use them like this!

I would also recommend: Every two days go to the academy and do the seven free DOFF assignments to fill your DOFF roster. Also maybe use some of your early phoenix rewards to get more admirality ships for your farmers?

Also, by adding regularly to your DOFF roster you won't have any reservation to do the "execute changling spy" assignment (KDF) for 500 dil.

Don't fly in sector space that take too long, transwarp using the episodes mission.

Noob, it doesnt matter how much dil you make, because unrefined dilithium is useless if you dont refine it. You have to refine it and you CAN ONLY refine max 9k dilithium per day. The reasons it was "nerfed" have nothing to do with that.

I would like to know what duty officers should I concentrate on. My DOFF roster is always a mess so it would help me to know what kind and how many officers I need for marauder assignments.

The free ones you get from leveling them up to level 65 (and you should get a level for each tour of duty completed if you don't want to actually play on them) are sufficient for your needs as shown in the video. That's all mine have. You'd have to look at the individual doff missions and see what kind of doff they want. I tend not to bother as the baseline freebies have been sufficient.

You forgot patrols, first patrol a day I get 1000k Dil. per toon. Wanted is an easy and fast patrol and great for the salvage endeavor.

Just a note on Fed Tour of Duty Admiralty. If your toon is maxed out. The 10th tour of duty bonus turns into dil and not a spec point. I cant remember the amount but I'm thinking 3k-6k. So if your doing Admiralty missions anyway, might as well take one more minute to do the Fed one too.

Interesting share on contraband farming~ I'm f2p with 3 character for each fed, kling and rom; I still run mining daily (both vlugta) at low level fleet prob at 2k, high level fleet at 3480, then one patrol with daily bonus (500+500), follow by a quick round at Nimbus (guy in bar) gives some easy task to round up another 1k +; the rest is a bit here and there from replay, TOF, DOFF rewards or some random tiny dil rewards; of course endeavours sometimes can get 2 to 3k if lucky My problem now is I can only refine max of 8500 per day for both fed and kling; the 3rd (no fleet yet) just sit there to farm. No quite fast enough for conversion and still slow for fleet upgrade purchase; Ironically my fed is my main and the fleet is still struggling; my kling is secondary but the fleet is maxed; the rommie basically camp at vluga

I found that the easiest way is to transfer the contraband items from one character to another (using the account bank slots) and have that character turn in the contraband to the security officer, assuming that character is of high enough level to have the mission.

That's normally what I do if I want more dil and don't want to wait. A quick Japori or Argala can yield another 500 each, plus the dil for doing it in the first place.

Also, regarding TFO's. If you are prepared to play a random TFO, you get an additional"Random reward box" with at least 750 dil, possibly up to 3500 dil plus additional marks, all on addition the the TFO's regular rewards.

Just a thought it is MUCH easier and quicker to go to Grenalda starbase to do all your turning in and moving stuff around . Mail & bank & exchange consoles are close together and it also has a security officer to turn in contraband.. With a hell of a lot less running around than on Quiznos.

You should do more than just the ferengi tour of duty mission. Some of the modifiers from the missions can give up to 2,000 extra dilithium from completing the mission

It is rare but I have had 2 parts of the admiralty big project going at the same time about 16 hours apart you have to go threw about 30 missions to do it. Also I try to use one time ships in the 10 part mission because they take so long that way I will not be losing my good ships for 36 to 48 hours

You can also use the T6 reputation system to turn in marks and tokens for dilithium.

I'm free to play and have an account bank. Always have, you should have at least 10 slots, also use missions to transwarp like war zone bringing down the house to go to Qonos

I'm afraid account banks are not part of f2p accounts and if they were in the past it must have been many years ago. If you don't believe me then create a new account and see for yourself

All good dil farming advice from yourself and in the comments. I'm F2P and have 7 KDF toons and 1 FED toon. I can easily farm 250 contraband in under a week and have so much dil now I just sell them for about 7 mill on the xchange which is a very nice boost to my EC. Following the admiralty nerf the price of zen plummeted to as low as 350 dil and since then has gradually crept up to 430. Although it's not as bad as pre admiralty I feel another dil farming nerf is coming soon if the trend continues. In my opinion the dil cost of zen is artificially high given the time and effort needed to farm it now and I have my own theories on the cause but I wonder if you feel the reward is worth the effort these days? Just to add that it's always worth completing the featured event as it rewards decent amounts of dil if you keep playing after claiming the prize and that's why I'll keep playing synthwave until the event ends despite being totally bored with it by now.

I don't sell dilithium for zen unless it's absolutely necessary, like raising the EC cap on the f2p account. I farm the dilithium to buy things that cost dilithium. Mostly Phoenix upgrades and fleet items (also dil donations to get fleet credits). It's less than minimum wage to farm dilithium if you plan on selling it for zen. I don't find that compelling.

What have you heard about sto longevity, as I've heard the new consoles xbox series x and ps5 have backwards compatable and the games pass too... They surely will add sto to their games pass.. What's you knowledge on this plz?

I don't know anything for sure but during a livestream they said they believed STO should work on the next gen consoles, and with multiple shows going right now and high revenue last year I'd guess we have a few years until maintenance mode at least, and maybe longer.

It's difficult but you can get some free cards. The Sally Ride is a good science card you can get for free just by visiting it in sector space (Narendra system). You get the bug ship card by default, plus a cruiser card for hitting level 65 and eventually you'll hit level 10 on the ferengi admiralty and get quarks ship card. Plus another one from the level 61 ship token. Plus event ships.

They don't have to be, but they need to be a high enough level to have access to the admiralty system. Jem'hadar come ready made from the tutorial with everything you need. Any kdf aligned character at least level 52 can do it though, or even just level 11 if you are only doing the contraband.

Not if you cancel the order. Nobody is going to buy at 25 per, especially now that it's at 500. You can still use it to transfer dil just fine.

This is not a dilithium FARMING guide. These are just pretty basic steps to have a minimum base of it. What a waste of time lol.
