I love the level of detail you go into in these videos.

I don't remember any other documentaries making making mention of the amount of Dillinger associates/law enforcement officers/court officials. Surprised that the girl 👧 friends/wives. Of the out laws were released in Tucson.

Surely the most captivating and comprehensive series on gangster John Dillinger.

Very underrated channel, all the stories are quite entertaining and unpredictable.

Not unpredictable if you know history. But she is a damned good story teller. Guarding the plot as if she didn't know it, a few minutes ahead. That is what makes all her series so great!

The anticipation and excitement I get at the beginning of each episode is like a quick high. Then I feel the come down as story quickly ends. What a rush though! You're so good at this🙂

I'm thinking pierpont was the real problem. Guys got dead eyes.
@DefraggedHistory9 ай бұрын
The problem with Pierpont is that he always closed his eyes for the cameras (to not be recognized.) The best I had was one where he half-closed his eyes.

The amount and length of travel is remarkable considering the cars available and roads available. Definitely no interstate highway system. Finding gas alone would have been interesting.

This is the best account of Dillinger I’ve come across, thanks so much for doing this. Can’t wait for the Crown Point escape in the next episode.

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent still-motion photography pictures/drawings/maps. Enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Had Uncle Johnny & associates gone to ( L.A ). They would have blended in better. And probably avoided apprehension-???🤔. Much more authentic information pertaining to the gang/law enforcement officers/court room officials. Wishing viewers a safe/healthy/prosperous (2024)🌈🎉💵😉.

May I recommend THE KANSAS CITY MASSACRE (1975), a movie freely available here on KZbin? Dale Robertson is utterly convincing as Melvin Purvis.

The odyssey just to get Dillinger to a court to begin trial was incredible to hear about. Almost as much drama as the bank robberies themselves!

What amazes me is why they carried thousands of dollars in cash, wouldn't the money be a lot safer in a bank? Also, it's hilarious how the states fought harder over who went where than the lawyers of the criminala

A very informative episode like the others. These guys did some creative things and then they turn around and pull a bonehead move. I would like to know why you feel that Uncle John was involved with the East Chicago robbery? Thank you for using the correct pronunciation of the Dillinger family name. Why did you use the incorrect pronunciation of the Dillinger family name throughout each episode? This is the first time I've heard that Uncle John 'confessed' for the death of Office O'Malley. Uncle John always said, that he never killed anyone. Also, you include a quote from Uncle John where he says he wasn't at the East Chicago robbery where Hamilton was shot.

I prefer people make up their own minds about the stories I tell, so I try to show all sides and rarely comment on what I personally think. I've noticed this approach is frustrating for some people who prefer I tell a more black-and-white story, with clear good and bad guys. I might do an "afterthoughts" video in the future for all the series on the channel and share my personal opinion. John Dillinger lied, often for understandable reasons. He tells the press he didn't kill O'Malley in the same breath as he claims Hamilton is dead. We know Hamilton isn't dead. He manipulating the press with great skill. He also confessed to Piquett and O'Leary several times, according to them, of course. I believe he had a tough time squaring it all for himself.

This is an excellent channel - I've watched all five Dillinger episodes with great enjoyment. So may I offer some constructive criticism? I'd ease up a little on the snark. People were murdered by these hoodlums who, yes, were parasites on the nation during a time of economic distress. Such snark is particularly unseemly when it's factually wrong, as when at 23:35 you assert that "few men had jobs." The unemployment rate was 25% in 1933, the height of the Depression.
