@@dieseltech7_358 When I saw them in Portland at least two of the band members were bleeding. Ben was bleeding from his face cause one of his strings broke. The greatest and most underrated band of all time. I miss the hell out of these guys.
@SJ-ym4yt4 жыл бұрын
Were they really underrated though? I mean, the critics loved them, the fans loved them, and they seemed to have a pretty big fanbase consisting of people who might not even be into that kind of music otherwise. I personally think they were perfectly rated.
@nicolasa.31924 жыл бұрын
@@SJ-ym4yt Fair point, but they didn't get a large amount of attention compared to other metalcore/mathcore adjacent bands. They were something special, I think they deserved to be one of the bigger ones. The only reasons I can think of _why_ they weren't as big is because of... well... _points at all the clips of them bleeding on stage and throwing amps into the crowd._ They were a little too hardcore for the average person to enjoy. They're discography is kind of all over the place, some tracks are completely unlistenable to a person who doesn't like this kind of music, whereas tracks like Milk Lizard can be shown to the normiest of normie and you don't have to worry about scaring them off.
@noBearAdventures Жыл бұрын
@@SJ-ym4ytI think they’re considered “underrated” the same way FNM is considered underrated. As in… everyone in the scene, the industry, the fans, their peers, the press… they all know. They understand what they mean/meant to music as a whole. It’s that you’ll never get to take that hammer to everyone’s face so they can see it too. Because some people just can’t be reached, and there’s only so much time. That’s how I see the word “underrated” when you’re talking about a very select few artists. FNM and Dillinger are the two who immediately stand out in my mind when someone says that.

At the tiny ass dive bar they played at in SLC on their final tour, me and one other dude were basically the entire mosh pit. Despite having a pathetically small crowd, they put on a full-intensity concert, literally hanging off the rafters, and me and dude were full intensity losing our shit, fucking each other up and loving every minute of it. Thank you Dillinger, then and still.
