Hello instrument is name Kobyz (Kazakh: қобыз, Qobyz) or kyl-kobyz is an ancient Kazakh string instrument. It has two strings made of horsehair. The resonating cavity is usually covered with goat leather. According to legends, the kobyz and its music could banish evil spirits, sicknesses and death. and imitate animal voices of Kazakhstan steppe. Here sounds realy like a wolf :) THANK YOU so much for the reaction. I love this song, and Dimash is absolutely amazing!! This song about a moan soldier and how he miss is home land .... " Samaltau" means montain of wind.... " In memory of the martyrs and the proud Kazakh people who fought against the Soviet terror regime. The period from 1900-1934 was really very tragical for our nation. There were 24 million of Kazakhs in 1897 according to first population sensus. Later the Jungars attacked Kazakh land, many people died. Soon, Russian Tsar conquered Tatars and Bashkort people who are our brothers by blood. Russians attacked Kazakh land and took many young people to the WW1. That's why in 1916 there was a huge rebellion of Kazakhs against Russans. Soviets also wanted to wipe out Kazakhs from the surface of the land, so in 1932-1934 about 6 million of Kazakhs died from awful famine organized by russian government. From 24 mlo. of Kazakhs left only 2 million, a small remnant of the nation survived " Bravo Dimash !! Thank you to react to this wonderful song and voice, únique sound! Best regardes from Portugal dears!

What a wonderful reaction! It is set in his beloved Kazakhstan. And what a magnificent song by our darling Dimash (may he live forever.) Samal Tau is the name of a region in Kazakhstan, and it means (roughly) Windy Mountains. There, the Russians went and stole the men to go off and fight in Russian wars, conscripted soldiers. As they were taken away, they knew they would never again see their beloved homeland of Samal Tau (or their wives and families, either.) Dimash is grieving and honoring them, with this song in which he gives us a new voice to cry out and remember those lost soldiers. He created this voice for us, for our delight and love, since no Dear could help but be eagerly drawn into that genius mind and heart. His wrenching cries go out to the cruel fates, for the sake of the lost soldiers, and also his cries go out to us in all their passion. Einra, it came to me yesterday that he manages to give all his Dears his attention and love, by having a non-human capacity, limitless as his spirit is limitless...and this is the reason there is not competitiveness, because it's apparent to us all that he doesn't have to be measured in this, or anything else, any more than the sun has to be measured and allotted out, for one here and another there...It's all One and there are no shortages. There is only abundance and plenty. We can relax, basking in the glow of his warmth, his tender and yet Fierce love for each.

Einra, glad you loved this song, because I loved it too much. This beginning with the traditional musicians and instruments where they make the sound of wolves, dogs, leaves, water is all wonderful and makes me travel to Kazakhstan, to imagine those steppes of the Kazakh ancestors. How much history these people have to tell, the sufferings. I hope Dimash always gives us these Kazakh folk songs because it is amazing. Fabulous scenery ... Hugs BRAZIL

MARILÉIA DE SOUZA genuinely the composition is good plus the superb voice of Dimash is enough for me to learn your history, thats how powerfulDimash Talent is
How beautifully the song begins with the sounds of ancient Kazakh musical instruments, they convey to us all the sounds of the great Steppe, a virtuoso musician plays on a Kobyz and we hear the howl of a wolf, the ripples of water in the river, the rustle of reeds, the cry of a night bird, the tramp of hooves, the creak of a wheel, barking and whining dogs.... It is so real that we visualise all these sounds and before us unfolds a real movie about the real life of the great Steppe in the distant 1916. A powerful voice of the Dimash over the Steppe and the echo rolling through the mountains. This is the pain and sorrow of the great Steppe, which strikes an alarm in our heart, in the eyes of tears and rolls a lump in the throat so that it is impossible to breathe .... Steppe is crying from the grief of those distant times ..... We hear all the pain and wailing in Dimash's voice, and we are overcome by a sense of confusion .... The song has taken us prisoner, we are shocked and aware of the tragic share of people involved in the first world war.... We must not forget that war is a catastrophe for all people on Earth: a destroyed WORLD, orphans and old people mourning their dead children. Irreparable, crippled by war, the fate of people ....
