This performance is in Shanghai Spring Festival at China. This song is musical conversation between Emperor (Dimash at golden chair) and a Concubine (Li Yugang) Mr Li is a 41 years old and very famous Chinese traditional opera singer and He perform female parts. I love this performance!!! Drunken Concubine in dialogue the tragic story between a famous concubine of the Chines imperial court, Li Yugang in that role, and the emperor, Dimash´s rol that´s why the throne at stage. At the end of the story the concubine is poisoned as a result of court intrigues. Li Yugang is a famous artist considered China´s National Treasure and he is a nan dan singer (male playing female roles) art forms from Peking Opera, giving the traditional art a modern edge. The way he moves (knees bent together and those "meows" have a special meaning in the traditional opera). What is most amazing about Li is that he could´nt study in the university or conservatory of music, he is absolutely autodidact which is so admirable!! Dimash is impeccable as usual 🎤❤️

Apparently the socks are his super power which allows him to do those high whistle notes. He normally doesn't wear them as the Aliens might hear his signal to come and bring him back to their universe, lol. Beautiful interpretation. Two styles the traditional Chinese opera and the contemporary one, telling us a story at the beginning mixed with Diva Dance to end again with Drunken Concubine. Dimash and Li Yu Gang, present us as a dialogue, the tragic love story between a famous concubine (represented by Li Yu Gang) of the Chinese imperial court and the emperor (represented by Dimash) for that reason the two thrones in the stage. The Concubine has problems with her emperor as a result of the intrigues of the enemies in the imperial court. The emperor is sentencing the concubine to death (hence Dimash's vowel fry issuing the sentence). The concubine reminds the emperor of happy times together, but does not change the outcome, the death of the concubine. Two great interpreters Greetings from Nicaragua 🇳🇮

Always fun watching you react to Dimash! (I'll never forget the earphones on fire after "Adagio!!") I'd like to remind Dimash fans that the MTV youtube channel Friday Livestream returns on May 14 from 5-8 pm New York time. Dimash just barely managed to finish in the #1 position in requests on the last airing of the show so will need us to show up in large numbers this Friday to type REQUEST DIMASH in the chat as many times as possible during the program in order to keep Dimash at the top. Those who want to help Dimash in return for all he has done for us should calculate their time zone differences and tune into that program every Friday to vote for Dimash. He is clearly the class act among what is mostly mediocre pop music artists and it would be ashamed to let him fall to any of the other acts. The MTV Friday Livestream usually becomes accessible about 30 minutes before it's scheculed start of 5-8 pm New York time. If it's Friday it's time to vote for Dimash!

They always do that for all the other artists and that keeps their fans in place to see what it is going to be. Of course, we knew "Be With Me" was right for their format and would be featured eventually but I think we Dears have more challenges than most of the other artists' fans in keeping our guy at the top. I intend to do everything I can, though, to see that it happens!

Our Dimash never ceases to amaze us, he continues to show that he is unique and an out of the ordinary, Li Yugang sings in a Pekin opera style. Jingju (京剧), which is how you say Peking opera in Chinese, is a genre of xiqu (戏曲), which is a performing art form that integrates singing, recitation, theatrical performance, and martial arts. It is considered one of the highest expressions of Chinese culture, in the video of him dresses as a woman, it is how it was done when it was forbidden to sing to women and men took that role that is what Li Yugang does, greetings from Argentina

The thing I find most interesting about this one is the difference in posture between the two. Dimash, of course, sings with his hands--but notice Li Yugang--he moves in a very stylized fashion with floating gestures. It really shows off the traditional nature and operatic style of Li Yugang's singing.
