Очень нравиться наблюдать первые реакции на пение Димаша.. Нашла в интернете видео выступление Димаша в 2016 году в посольстве Сербии, где он был с оркестром консерватории. Don't be fool by the song name Opera 2, its actually not an opera song. After Dimash performed Opera 2 for the 2nd time, Vitas issued a lawyer letter to him for copyright infringement and also banned him to ever sing this song again. Many believed it was because Dimash sang way better than Vitas and that trigger the legal action

Hey there! :) Thank you sooo much for your reaction! Please go on reacting to Dimash! In my opinion definitely the best singer I've ever come across, and I say this as a thrash metal singer haha Just a few technical inputs :) When you praised his falsetto, this was actually full head voice (with a dark timbre and an operatic tone in bel canto style), then, when you asked, if this was an effect (that guy never uses effects btw), this was actually a Yakutsian riff. You create this by using a specific type of fast onsets. It's very rare though, especially nowadays, this belongs to some ethnic chant singing that originates from a specific a region of today's Russia. After that he had this massively long vocal (23 seconds on one breath) including a Bb5 in mix and a massive melisma. That guy's insane!!! For further reactions: Opera 2 is actually cool! It's not opera (Sinful Passion features much more operatic elements than Opera 2 does), it's quite a fun song and you will like it in case you're interested in high powerful head voice. If you want to have sth in English: I really like his renditions of The Show Must Go On (!) and All by Myself on The Singer. He didn't know English back then though, that's why his pronunciation was really not good, especially in Show Must Go On, but vocally that's a must watch. In 2018 he came back to The Singer for a guest performance and sang his rendition of Lionel Richie's Hello, definitely a recommendation, and also his English was already way better. If you want to see a more poppy performance in English: his own song Screaming at "Idol Hits" is also great. Also a must watch is his performance of the Diva Dance (Bastau concert), he sang the most difficult part of the song of the "blue alien diva" in the movie 5th Element. ...and if you want to see some newer stuff: I deeefinitely recommend 2 of is newest songs/performances: Love is Like a Dream and Ogni Pietra (Arnau concert). Ogni Pietra actually is a classical piece (opera singing), so if you really don't like that, don't watch it - but it's really epic!!! And has a modern style, one of my favorite performances of him even though I'm not into opera either haha Thaaaanks again, mate! :)

Yes! What you said!!! Yakutsian riff... I couldn't put my finger on it, but I knew it was 100% Dimash with no special effects (maybe a bit of reverb). Thanks for breakdown of his upper register as well. It can be a bit challenging to even notice when he changes from mixed voice to head voice to falsetto to whistle... his transitions are that smooth!!!

Actually what you call Yakutsian riff is a vocal technique used in traditional Kazakh folk singing as well. Kazakhs and Yakuts have similar origins and speak the languages belonging to the same linguistic group - Turkic languages, that explains similarities in folk singing traditions.

Just a little info on Dimash- He is a Kazakh singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is university trained in classical as well as in contemporary music and is known for his wide vocal range of 6 octaves, from D2 to D8 . Genre: Crossover music, Folk music, Operatic pop, Pop music, World music. At age 5 he was found to have perfect pitch by his music teacher. Born 1994, Aktobe, Kazakhstan he just turned 25 in May. Born in a music family, and graduated from the National Art University of Kazakhstan. As a creative singer, he continued actively appeared on the stage after his graduation. The Singer-“This program is the most influential in China. Dimash is completely an unfamiliar face in China, but his unique opera singing style and his high=pitched tone shocking everyone during his first appearance on stage. He was also the youngest singer of all the computers. There is a video of the evaluation of Dimash after The Singer-FU LIN -PRESIDENT OF THE CHINESE POP MUSICIANS’ ASSOCIATION said " “He has reached the level of superhuman techniques. -he doesn’t just have technique, He knows how to interpret songs.”

so that one part that you asked if it was real? yes. there's video of him rehearsing for this performance and he's practicing that glottal stop part. they wouldn't be doing an effect like that for his practicing. Dimash is also just a wonderful human being. watch interviews of him, he is sooo humble! Lots of people on his level would be very...full of themselves in certain ways? Not a hint of that with him. One thing he said that struck me is that now he is performing, but one day he will sit in the audience and not perform again.
