Actually, Ken Tampling was the lead singer and guitar player of a famous Christian rock band formed in the 80s (more specifically, gram metal rock) that's why his vocal range. Most of rock singers have spectacular voices, reaching super high notes as well as low notes, falsetto, etc. I'm not much knowledgeable in music or vocals, but most of my knowledge comes from watching Ken.

He was offered a position with the 5th largest opera house in the world and turned them down. He said he wanted to have fun with music and his voice. Opera, popera, folk, pop, rap, traditional...he puts everything into the mix. How he can go high to low and do all these techniques in them is fantastic. He knows how to use everything he has in this wonderful instrument.

The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental Arab technique, is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist! Bright! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

Hi Ken....About Dimash....he started taking singing lessons and piano when he was five. He is 24 years old now and if you watch and you should The I am singer show 2017 from China you will be mind blown. Dimash was 22 on this show...The first song w/ be SOS in French...the second is Opera 2 in Russian etc. Dimash plays the drums, the piano and the Dombra ( a Kazakh lute instrument w/ two strings.) He will play this in his song Dadidau. This is a Kazakh song . Dimash was a wild card on the singer show which had only famous singers competing against each other and no one thought he would get through. So happens that he won first place with the first song he sang...SOS. He came in second on the show but, he is known around the world now....over 100 countries. Dimash had a concert in London recently and people from over 40 countries came to see him. That is the Love for Dimash from us Dears ( what Dimash calls us..his fans ) peace and Love Ken...DKIFC/USA liked and subscribed to your channel and can't wait to see more reactions to this talented young man. What a lot of reactors miss here due to unfotunate timing of pausing is that last phrase was all carried through in a single breath. The chest, into insane head, dropping into a lengthy melisma all in a single one-breath vocal phrase. I doubt there is a known vocalist alive who could pul that kinda feat off. I hadn't heard of this guy until tonight and now I'm glad I have. It's refreshing to see a young face with such raw talent and ability. The kinda thing doesn't exist in contemporary music nowadays.

First time I heard this song I was really floored. I realized I was holding my breath the whole time he was doing his vocal run and when the music stopped I inhaled deeply. Dimash has that effect on me and to think I used to believe only Steelheart can blow the roof! Im glad Im still alive to ser Dimash! 🤩🤩🤩🤩

@Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Dimash has great genetics ( both his parent's are Opera Singer's) he also speaks many languages, plays many instruments as well. If you watch his Pop concerts on KZbin, or watch his subtitles to his interviews, his Pop ideal IS MICHAEL JACKSON! Dimash wanted to learn how to dance for his more Pop type shows. You can see him pick up some of MJ's dance moves when he's incorporating many different styles of music. This is what training young, practice & the love of what your doing can accomplish. ●Dimash actually brought Simon Cowell to tears singing this very song! Much Respect to you Ken, Big Fan!

Thank you so much for your so informative reaction, I love it when people react to a singer when they know what they are talking about. I have been a Dimash Dear since March 2017 and he is constantly improving if that is possible, one of my favourites is Late Autumn.

great reaction and analysis. people just couldn't say enough good about Dimash. he is simply the best voice in the world as people call him. yep, you're right, 'alien' is another nickname people call him. regardless of whether you are a person with great vocal knowledge like yourself or simply a general music listener like most of us, all do understand that Dimash is the best in this present time. he is a big star now but will eventually become a global mega star once he breaks into the US mainstream (not to prove but a bigger stage to show case, US - the biggest music market in the world). please react to more of his performances and viewers will surely be glad to come to enjoy it. there is no bad performances of his but rather which one is your favor(s). don't forget to react to the unforgettable day at Gakku concert if you want to hear the famous "D8" note.
