Sings in 12 languages, plays 7 instruments, Single, Gorgeous, Humble, 6'3" tall, and can sing the stars out of the heavens. His voice is his instrument and he can do just about anything with it. He's known around the world, better known in the Asian countries due to being on the Chinese Show called "The Singer", where he was an invited Wild Card Performer. After that 1st song SOS, they had to get security for him, he became the "Breakout Star", but only took 2nd place in the competition. I think it's clear that as a wild card in a traditionally all Chinese competition, that he was not going to be allowed to win. It's fairly safe to say that the first place winner (I watched most of her performances) Sandy Ham knew that Dimash was the rightful winner and the outcome predetermined as Dimash's fame exploded with each performance. I'm sure the CCP set the rule through state owned media that the winner must be Chinese. Every singer in that competition knew after Episode #2 the race was for second place except for CCP "tradition" and not merit being the rule. The Chinese media criticism that Dimash showed off his high range only......reminded me of the famous Amadeus scene where Mozart asks the King what did he think and the King replied "uhhhhh...too many notes." Mozart replies "which ones, Your Highness?"

Kristian Berg she won it after Dimash, which I credit a measured and thoughtful response by the Shows judges to the criticism they took of Dimash not winning. At the time Dimash entered, it was a special dispensation. They likely knew for the second year in a row, the show would suffer credibility in public’s eyes if they did not allow the best singer to win. Context is important historically. I should add a producer/judge of the 2017 show has since given an interview discussing why Dimash is unique and will be remembered long after his fellow contestants from that 2017 show. He knew Dimash was the real winner.

Y'all have just been Dimashed. There is no one that can even compete with him. No matter which performance you pick to listen to, you will be stunned speechless. He is peerless. His range of about 7 octaves. He has been training since he was 5 yrs old, has perfect pitch, has been offered a place in an opera company when he was about 19 yrs old and turned it down to bring his talent to the world in order to bring attention to his native country of Kazakhstan. And trust me --- since he has been thrust upon the world stage 3 yrs ago, his country has become the center of so much interest because of this humble young man. btw, y'all picked up on the meaning of this song all on your own. AND trust me, you will find profound meaning in almost every song he sings.

My heartfelt gratitude to the reactors worldwide for your great help and service, so that artists can improve and or develop their talents and gifts at their best in order to serve better the listening public. I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition. The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his singing career to the best of his ability the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his listeners around the world especially the young will learn something from his optimistic views in pursuing his career, his persistency, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and to his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music. The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible even at his lowest and highest notes. Also the fact that, he is able to sing his music with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said oooh… is Dimash human..? I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and I’m convinced that Dimash 20 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted but his hard work and years of practice and experiences proves it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible. My other concern whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..? Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it. With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me. For all the readers of these reflections and commentaries about this piece of music performed by Dimash. If you think this is all helpful for the general public you can share it to others, I do really appreciate it. Or maybe you might have a different reflection experience of this music than mine; you can always revisit this music or other music of Dimash on line. Your own personal comments and critique to this commentary and reflection is very much welcome and highly appreciated too. Song of Dimash in French “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death) STORY BEHIND THE SONG: Credit to Daniel Balavoine the original artist of this song who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. That is why this song is sad mention in some of the lyrics…A soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress. . Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith. For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discern well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity or a means of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with great humility and discernment. Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God. Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth” St. Paul reminded us that “the sufferings of this present time are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later. Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters into human lives, our nature has been wounded, and we experience suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but it is part of the reality of our human lives now. Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless on it. If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others. Death is the end of our earthly life. Our lives are measured by time, as with all other living beings on earth. Since it is unknown to all of us the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times, otherwise we are being caught by surprise of not being ready when God comes to take us to be with Him forever in our eternal home in bliss. His dad and mom are singers and well known in Kazakhstan. He has been training since 5... and has a degree in composition as well as singing. As far as him winning? No he came in as runner up... but that just goes to show everyone that, best doesn't mean popularity. There are billions of views on popular pop and rap songs, but here Dimash doesn't come close! It's honestly a travesty that he came in 2nd.

Please check out the songs that they recommended. Dimash hit the world stage when he accepted an invitation to compete in the Chinese singing competition called "The Singer 2017" (later called "I am a Singer"). This competition is the most grueling singing competition in the world. It is for professional and well established singers only. At only 23 years old, Dimash was well known, and had won numerous awards in the countries well West of China. But not known in China. There are 14 rounds of songs, one song each week that the contestants must pass through successfully until one is declared the winner. But the most amazing thing about this competition are the judges. The judges are made up of 500 members of the audience! The members remain the same throughout the competition. No pressure...right? The song you just heard, "SOS", was the first song he sang in the competition. And he won that round. Dimash was runner-up for this competition. And won the Hearts of the whole country of China.
