My favorite thing about Dimash is how he is constantly evolving. Constantly experimenting and adapting his style and giving us something different and new while still maintaining what we all know of him. This is my first time hearing this song and the face I just made... lol it's actually rare for me to hear something from an artist that I've followed for a while that surprises me, because with most artists, they usually keep to the style they are most known for. And unfortunately, when they do decide to change styles, I usually get disappointed because it's not as good as before. But with Dimash, he is on a completely different level where honestly no matter what he does, it is never disappointing, it's always good. I am loving how much more raw and soulful he is getting with his vocals. I will absolutely adore and admire his classical voice, but what I appreciate a lot of where his vocals are evolving towards now is that he is doing what he wants and expressing himself the way he sees fit. He is not staying in one box. He knows he has the ability and opportunity to do so much more and it's really awesome that he doesn't squander it. The time is now because at some point his priorities in life are going to shift, like one day he will want to marry and start a family, or maybe move on from singing and become a composer or teacher. Being able to be here and follow along in his journey is such a gift.

В рамках программы "Красота и гармония", в рамках культурного обмена между Казахстаном и Китаем, Димаш выступил как вокалист, исполнив вместе с пианистом Ланг Лангом фрагмент первой части фортепианного концерта композитора Синь Синхая "Песнь лодочника Желтой Реки". Так же Димаш ответил на несколько вопросов и затем исполнил под аккомпанемент домбры и фортепиано совершенно неожиданную джазовую версию известной казахской песни "Дударай". Автор слов и музыки: Рекина Мария Егоровна (Мариям Жагоркызы). Песня написана в начале 20-го века, примерно в 1905 году. Я в восторге от этого исполнения Всем мира и любви.

The story behind "Dudarai", a traditional Kazakh song. It is a love story between a 17-year-old Russian girl Mariam and a Kazakh boy named Dudar. The story is set in the early 20th century. Duisen was his real name, but because of his curly hair he called him Dudar. He was already married to another woman when Mariam laid eyes on him, but his young wife died soon after the birth of their son. A little later, Dudar and Mariam ran away together, took the child with them and hid in the wild lands. Over time, their love was accepted by the villagers, and their elders gave them permission to marry. Maryam then converted to Islam to marry Dudar. After some time, Dudar fell ill and died childless. According to Kazakh-era custom, Mariam then married one of Dudar's brothers, with whom she had four children. One of these sons was named Dudar, after his first love. The original poem has more verses, but this is the version sung by DI on CCTV1's Beauty and Harmony program

Loved your reaction. I think those staccato high notes sound like a trumpet. This is an old Kazak folk song. At the beginning is the traditional way it is sung and Dimash decided to turn it into a jazz song. He did study jazz in college.

Dudarai is a Kazakh folk song, he just updated the arrangement. Its not the first time he has sung this song either. He does play the piano sometimes during his solo concerts. It is not Igor Krutoy related. Lol. This was for a Chinese tv show, he did an interview and also sang with an orchestra which featured Lang Lang. The stage itself is huge so the audience is not visible.

Это одно из телевизионных выступлений Димаша на китайском телевидении за последний месяц. Программа, по-моему, называлась "Красота и гармония". Кроме этого было еще три выступления с разными песнями, в том числе в дуэтах с певицами. 13.10 Димаш выступил в Турции с 2-мя песнями. И в октябре он должен участвовать в шоу звезд в Макао. Кажется, еще был концерт в Гонолулу, куда он летал из Китая., если не ошибаюсь... А до Турции он снимался в новом клипе. Это было в Лос-Анджелесе. Песня "Дударай" на самом деле не такая уж и веселая. Послушайте, как он поет ее в традиционном стиле. Это интересно.

Hi! Next pls react to the original version of Dudarai, he sang it with his lil sister, Raushan (in KZ means Rose) in 2018. Just to see the huge contrast! The lyrics based on a real life story about a Ru girl & Kz boy who fell in love and ran away from their parents to marry. (The only full version is on DimashWorld channel, and it is a rehearsal, on the event it seems they never sang it, only All By Myself) He rearranged it now in jazzy funky style! 😍 I love it so much! Yes, it was a performance in a studio in the program Harmony and Beauty - about friendship, exchanges between China & other Asian countries. (The song choice is symbolic, bc somehow this song got popular in China with a different Ch lyrics, they call it .... Rose. That's why the rose on the led wall & led stage. Also the original Kz lyrics (based on real life story ) is about lovers from different nationalies. (Their descendant, or relative from a later generation wrote the song.) i loved this the starting when dimash was started the song on the dumbra reminded me of the classical vivaldi----concerto in d major RV 93:11. it was beautiful... BUT THE WAY HE MADE THE FOLK SONG into his own in the second part was nothing less than genius.... made it funky jazzy more modern... there was and is nothing that this man can't do never disappoints me... love love love his voice love to watch him perform ...hitting that d8 in that run was fabulous....and love your reaction to the change in the styles....he's great.. nothing else can be said...

Good reaction. You should have a try with another song , a duet with Wei Wei, called Join Hands. A beautiful song and performsnce . He has been performing in some Chinese events and these songs are from those events . Do you realky find the funky section rather short? I think he was able to show his range of high qualities in that section and through the whone song

It was a show on the Chinese central TV. The slogan of the show "Harmony and Beauty". Dedicated on the Chinese Global Infrastructure Initiative "One Belt, One Road". On his IG Dimash presented this as "I produced our folk song in a new way especially for CCTV1 channel". By the sound and looks of this, he produced the song, then in his busy stay in China the organisers of this long event that brought a bunch of artists together from different countries, filmed (quite hastily) a "stage performance" type of clip for him, and for other artists, to 'exemplify' how the songs would look performed on stage. And the sound was the track that Dimash said he produced. The clips were then interspersed in a long show, among a bunch of talking. Anyway, loved the spin he put on this, a LOT 😁❤️‍🔥🎶 Thank you for the video :)

I say this with all my love for DQ, every performance by every person in China is pre-taped. Because that’s what the Chinese officials ask for. To the point that they sometimes show rehearsals with the final track over it. They showed this a lot when DQ was participating in Chinese talent competition called “Shine Super Brothers S2”. So, that’s why you weren’t hearing a sound difference when DQ was pulling away from the mic. Again, no knock on DQ. It’s just what they do in their entertainment industry.
