Noticed that you were viewing the video on my channel. Just thought I should warn you 😅 that when Sundet Baygozhin signed a contract to perform in Europe, his company started taking down all videos that had his performances. It took me ages to find a high quality video and put in the subs. And I uploaded it, ready for it to be taken down. Amazingly it's still there. Oh, just found out that Sundet is now with Astana Opera. I guess that means this video is now 'safe'. I took the risk because I felt that this was a really good showcase of Dimash in opera mode and people would appreciate the duet. The song is part of a musical called 'Notre Dame de Paris'. Famous French musical.

🤔 I have to say I don't understand the reasoning behind taking down what in essence amount to free publicity. If I hired someone I would be happy if people came to my production in order to see that person. Which would be kind of difficult if nobody knows about him. 😑

@@Sorgesol maybe they want people to pay for the music. But yeah, who would buy if they didn't know about him. Then it would be up to the company to market their artist. However, this may no longer be a good strategy in today's world. I uploaded that video (at risk of a copyright strike) because I wanted ppl to be able to watch this beautiful performance and appreciate the talents on display. I love it so much and was so sad (at that time) I couldn't find it on KZbin.

This song is taken from the French musical Notre-Dame-de-Paris (inspired by Victor Hugo 1831 historic book) . The story of three men, a priest, a gentleman and a hunchback name Quasimodo, obsessed by the Beautiful gypsy Esmeralda. This song is from the priest Frollo who is thorn between his obsession with Esmeralda and his vows. They made an arrangement as of a duel in order to have two singers. I really like when they both sing together, the mix of their voice was sublime. By the way, the beautiful song, SOS d'un terrien, was also taken from a French musical, Starmania
