日本に住んでいるカザフ人です。Dimashさんの歌をreaction、ありがとうございます。私も初めて日本の演歌聴いた時、カザフと日本が何か繋がりがある気がしました。日本の演歌が好きになりました。カザフ語と日本語の文法は似ています、同じ単語も結構有ります。この歌の中で使っていた楽器は全部はカザフ人の伝統楽器です。カザフ人は遊牧民族なので、自然を大切にして、自然と共に生きると意味も含めています。

Плач молодого человека, о том, что он оставляет пожилых родителей, став солдатом, на войну с которой может и не вернуться. Димаш так проникновенно и скорбно поет песню молодого мужчины со своей родины местности " Самалтау", который прощается с родиной, ее бескрайними полями и с родными людьми и не знает вернется ли он домой, это трагедия не одного человека,а всего казахского народа. This music it seems to me is born out of the land, the nature and the history of Kazakhstan.. There is such an atmosphere of what the country is like, how the wind, water and wildlife sounds, and one gets the feeling of ages of time, going back to ancient times.. His voice is uncanny, in its evocation of all these things! He is like a musical magician! Thanks for your sensitive and knowledgeable reaction.. Thank you for a heartfelt reaction! Dimash loves his country and its folk music. He wants to sing those traditional songs and bring Kazakh culture into the world. Dimash often incorporates Kazakh folk instruments to his performances. All that cultural heritage has been part of his life from childhood, since his family consists of musicians and singers, and cherishes traditional Kazakh culture and values. Dimash is very versatile artist in many ways, and makes all kind of music. For me and many others, Dimash's Kazakh songs are the most loved in his repertoire. They come from the deep of his heart. Dimash has said in interviews that one of his great dreams is to introduce the rich traditions of Kazakh music to the world. He grew up with this music as part of his life. His mother is an opera singer, dad is pop singer, all of their friends are artists and musicians. And the traditional instruments and singing was part of that world. Thank you so much for your interpretations through Japanese traditional music, it really helped me understand this in a new way. Oh - the name, Samal tau: Tau means mountain; Samal means fragrant breeze. So the song title means Fragrant Mountain Breeze. To me, that's a beautiful way to evoke the sense of homesickness as the men trek off to war.

This is Dimash’s home studio - he was invited to perform in Tokyo at the Festival but he wasn’t travelling due to Covid. Regarding the instruments, these are traditional instruments. Here’s an extract about the instruments from a comment made by @Fluffys Mum a Dimash fan: ‘The Kobyz is a 5,000 year old instrument with two strings made of horsehair, played with a bow also of horsehair. The noises made represent the sounds of the Kazakh Steppe, vast, beautiful plains where the population lived and herded horses which they rode, milked and ate. The other instrument is a Kazakh side blown flute called a Sybyzgy makes the sound of birds together with the rainstick, a bamboo pipe filled with tiny pebbles to make the sound of the wind blowing the grasses of the Steppe.’ Fantastic performance.

This is in my "Top 3" of favorite Dimash songs! You are correct, in that the instrumentation is used to express the sounds of nature around this soldier, and the solace he receives from seeing the lakes and mountains of his beloved homeland while being heartbroken that he is away from home. The stringed instrument is called a kobyz and it sounds very wild and animalistic. I play cello and am so curious that I’d love to try the kobyz. Dimash plays either six or seven different instruments including the traditional dombra. I love the feeling behind this piece... it has a very simplistic rhythm that mirrors the cadence of walking (marching) in the mountains, trudging, suffering. (It sounds horrible to say I love the feeling, then describe the pain and suffering conveyed! The song also conveys the longing and love for his country. Beautiful!)

Dimash is extremely proud of his country and its culture, so I think that no matter how popular he becomes in the Western market he'll continue to perform Kazakh music. Another great song to see is Adai + Daididau from his 2017 Bastau concert. That instrument is called “Kobyz” Another 2 string instrument is “Dombra” Dimash plays dombra really good. This is a list of songs dedicated to his country. ADAI +Daididau ELIM Menin Qaragym-ai QAIRAN ELIM KIELI MEKEN He has a cover of a song by Koji Tamaki. The name in English is Autumn Strong. I love the original song by Koji. Please react to Dimash playing the Dombra (traditional Kazahk instrument) and singing a Kazakh folk song (which is Dimash’s favourite!) the instrumental part is called Adai and the song is called Daididau kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJKXp2Rvh9VpmbM at Dimash’s Bastau 2017 concert. The most amazing and emotional performance since this was Dimash’s first solo concert and people came from all over the world to see him, and it was a dream come true for Dimash to introduce Kazakh folk music to the world. Dimash’s grandfather is a honoured teacher of the Dombra. Dimash plays 7 musical instruments (and he’s a master of all of them!)

Nice to see another reaction from you! I love all of Dimash's songs, but I think I love his Kazakh folk songs the best. The instrument making the "animal sounds" at the beginning is a kobyz (I've sometimes seen other spellings for it), though it does look very similar to an erhu. Another instrument you will hear a lot in his folk music is the dombra, which is the instrument on the wall that looks a little bit like a European lute, only with a very slender neck. It has two strings made of horse hair. It was used by shamans, and so, was not used that often during Soviet Era. Now there is a new revival, similar to taiko drums in Japan. Ну конечно, он в восторге!!! Эта песня очень отличается от тех двух, которые он слышал в исполнении Димаша. Это его третья реакция на выступления Димаша и конкретно эту песню посоветовали ему послушать диарс из японского фан-клуба. Говорит, что эта народная песня чем-то похожа на народные песни Японии, хотя Казахстан и Япония находятся далеко друг от друга. Его поразили также инструменты в начале песни, сразу уловил что это голоса зверей и тд.
