At the end of the second verse, Dimash sings "I love you" in Mandarin ("Wo ai ni") to the Chinese audience, and again in the third verse, adding "Men (I) seni (you) suyemin(love)" in Kazakh, before whispering "Thank you very much" in Mandarin at the end. Dimash beautifully incorporates Middle Eastern (Armenian, Turkish, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Kazakh) runs in the song.

More specifically, the last whisper was "Thank you very much". Dimash always seems to keep in mind where he is and who he is performing for. He didn't speak any Chinese when he participated in Singer, needing a full-time translator to get around, but he made sure to incorporate little things like this and even perform whole songs in Chinese!

He added a traditional tone, I love the original, this is a completely different level. For me, he changes how I listen to music, how music affects me, and ultimately what I consider listening to. This is not said to criticize any other performers, how I am affected by his technique and voice is a sense of peace which I haven’t had with others. Thank you both for your reaction.

Ребята моя Любимка - композиция Passione в Сочи. В ней так много смысла. Чтобы его понять я смотрела несколько раз. Очень сложное произведение. Здесь важно всё: слова песни, костюмы всех участников, последовательность композиции, декорации и задний фон сцены. Я сначала подумала, что песня о страсти между мужчиной и женщиной, но она не об этом. Она о другом. I think it’s a work of genius because a) it’s him saying hello to the fans and the stage (which is the I Am Singer stage where he competed in 2017 he has come back in 2018 as a guest performer on the finale) that made him a star. He truly cherishes his Chinese fans because they embraced him from the first performance and never let go. So, he’s literally saying hello to them. But, I truly believe that the subtext of this song is the ‘east saying hello to the west, and the west saying hello to the east’ and Dimash is an interpreter in the middle showing us how exquisitely beautiful things could be if we all came together as one in our world. My last point…this is the fastest I’ve ever seen him break character after any of his performances, and I believe that to be because these two messages so fundamentally explain who Dimash is as a human being. He believes these things to his core of his being, and lives it in his every day life. I appreciate Lionel Richie’s original, but Dimash’s version is next level. I love the middle eastern feel to Dimash’s version. Dimash was invited back the season after he competed. This was one of Dimash’s earlier performances in English. He continues to improve his pronunciation. You may enjoy some of his ensembles, including Forever Queen with Dimash and Super Vocal Boys. @@halildonmez2946 I have to acknowledge that I just looked up Makam music for a better understanding! Wow! Over 200 different constructs! Having studied western music for most of my life, it is interesting to broaden the horizons and learn about culturally different music theories and sounds. I recall after my father died, I dreamt he and I went for a walk in beautiful green fields. My father brought me to a grand hall where musicians from every era and every ethnicity and culture were playing music together. It was a sublime and incredible experience for my subconscience and it took me hearing Dimash’s music the first time to even remotely bring back the sounds that were in my dream with my father. So beautiful, rich and diverse with peace and harmony as the focus.

What I love about this version is that even if Dimash does it his way I feel he really pays respect to the original. The original is good and Dimash knows and shows that even if he adds his own flare to it. Thanks for another great Dimash reaction. I always look forward to them. His Chinese Dears absolutely adore him. It was the Singer 2017 competition in China which shot Dimash to international fame. That’s why he was invited back as a guest performer for this 2018 event. Dimash used an Arabic maqam for his ad lib in the 2nd half of the song. It's a system of oriental scales, melodic phrases and ornamentation techniques. He ended the song by speaking Mandarin - wo ai ni (I love you) - fei chang gan xie zhong guo (thank you very much, China) Kazakh - rachmet (thank you) You can look at some of his other covers - Love is like a dream by Alla Pugacheva - Ikanaide by Koji Tamaki - Autumn Strong (Mandarin version of Ikanaide). Gloria Wu’s channel gives the back story to the song - Adagio by Lara Fabian - Love of Tired Swans by Lara Fabian - Mademoiselle Hyde by Lara Fabian Dimash is a big fan of Lara Fabian. He really respects and adores her and she him. You can look at the song “Your Love” which was written specially for Dimash by Igor Krutoy, the famous Russian composer, while the lyrics were written by Lara Fabian. Lionel Richie writes some of the most beautiful songs you can imagine, Lady, Three Times A Lady, Easy Like Sunday Morning for starters. Lady was recorded by Kenny Rogers. However, he and Lionel sang it once together on a show. Dimash on the other hand makes you forget the way Lionel did it.

I am glad you listened to the original first to truly appreciate Dimash's interpretation. Dimash's rendition of Lionel Richie’s "Hello" was a guest performance on "I am a Singer 2018"; he was not competing that year. At the end of the second verse, Dimash sang "I love you" in Mandarin ("Wo ai ni") to the Chinese audience, and again in the third verse, adding "I love you" in Kazakh, before whispering "Thank you" in Mandarin at the end. Dimash beautifully incorporates Middle Eastern (Armenian, Turkish, Arabic, Azerbaijanian, Kazakh) runs in the song. His friend, Erlan Bekchurin, did the musical arrangement for this performance and most of his other arrangements. The flute is called a sybyzgy, a traditional Kazakh flute and precursor to the modern flutes. In my humble opinion, this is my favorite rendition of the song, even better than the original. I saw Lionel Richie perform this song live in Berlin, Germany. I also saw the Commodores after Lionel Richie had left the band. You pointed out that Dimash starts his covers close to the original version before making the song his own, and you are absolutely correct. He did the same with "Sinful Passion," "Adagio," "Love is like a Dream," "Your Love," "Ikanaide," and probably every other song he has covered.
