SOS d'un terrien en détresse is a French song composed by Michel Berger and written by Luc Plamondon in 1978 for the rock opera Starmania. The song is composed in two and a half octaves to fully exploit Daniel Balavoine's rare 2.1/2 octave range. Although frankly I didn't like the latter's voice (rest his soul) which was too mewling for me. The song was covered during a reality show" singing competition the "star accadémie" by Grégory Lemarchal , very good cover, very good voice, who won the competition despite the muscoviscidosis which unfortunately killed him at 24 years old. Grégory went to sing in Kasakhstan where Dimash heard it and learned it phonetically. Dimash is sublimating it

Seeing your reaction make think to I was looking into a mirror 3 years ago. It took me at least a dozen replays to wrap my mind around what the he... I just witnessed. It's not just the unbelievable range and quality of his voice - he is an like an emotional tsunami. And... He is doing this with every song. You just scratched the surface of what he is capable of. I stumbled across this channel after listening to Dimash on other channels. What was so interesting was Barry's face changed in reaction to listening to Dimash. It was like as if an angel held their hands, cradling his face. Barry was touched, moved, he softened and genuinely was astounded, like so many others, who have listened to Dimish. This singer is in the same genius category as Mozart, De Vinci, Rembrandt, Strass.....all beautiful freaks of nature, that God sent to this world, to touch the heart of humanity. Many have wept. I too wept.

I went for another bloodtest that the cardiologist ordered ahead of my appointment next week, and the results on this test are all in the normal range!👍 The temperature outside now is 94°F (34°C) and feels like 103°F (39°C) with the humidity. Welcome aboard the Dimash wagon. Boy, are you in for lots more tears to come. Like yourself I don't understand the languages but his performances pulls at your heart strings. This song by Daniel Balavoine "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" who was killed in aviation accident put Dimash on to the world stage. Lots of french speakers always pick on Dimash for pronouncing the "s" in ris and vis but how can anyone fault his performance. He fixes this so called error in his other live performances. I'd like to hear the Frenchies sing in Kazakh ! Let them eat cake, I say. Anyway, I'm glad see that one dose of Dimash has got you converted. Loved your reactions.

Ирина Немного уточню, его имя Динмухаммед, имя пророка Мухаммеда, а по-домашнему зовут Димаш, фамилия Кудайберген - Данный Богом.

@@user-db4cg7gy1g Бибигуль , жаным , уточню и я Вас : фамилия Димаша по отцу должна была быть Айтбаев , но в связи с тем , что он - как первенец - по восточному обычаю воспитывался в доме дедушки Кудайбергена Айтбаева , то он по тому - же обычаю воспринял имя деда как свою фамилию и стал Кудайберген , то есть , как Вы правильно перевели Богомданный . У некоторых славян также есть это имя в той же интерпретации - Богдан , а у мусульман - Аллахверди , у евреев есть аналог этого имени - Ионатан или в английской озвучке Джонатан . Мне нравится , что Димаш удалил из своей фамилии несвойственное казахам русское окончание " ов " - оно было явно неуместно ...

Hi Barry! This is the kind of reactions I like. Genuine, emotional, honest. And yes, there is no need to know what he is saying. He has the ability to touch your soul. In all honesty he has spoiled me for other singers because Dimash is all I have listened to since I discovered his music 3 years ago. Please react to Autumm Strong. I have listen to him perform this song in so many opportunities and every single time it brings tears to my eyes. I have seen the translation so by now I know what the song is about, but the first time I heard it it evoked such emotion. Tears flowed freely and I did not know why, all I knew was that it touched my soul in a way no other song had. I have been "addicted" to this young man's talent ever since. And when you read about Dimash the young man you will admire him even more. So get ready because you are about to embark in a Rollercoaster of emotions. Enjoy the ride!!

And Dimash has picked up another fan. He still sends his teachers from grade school flowers, every single year. If he's in town, he delivers them himself. When asked if fame was changing him, he said, "I'm a reflection of my parents and teachers; how could I embarrass them like that?" If you go to Gloria Wu’s site ,she translates a lot of his songs to English. If you listen to more later versions of SOS, there is even more feeling in that song because he said he is singing in the memory of childhood friend Dennis Tan who was killed a few months after he sang that song in China that made him famous.

If you have not heard it already, please react to Dimash singing The Story of One Sky. I have never heard vocals like this. Today my son sent me a short clip of Dimash singing part of SOS and I was so blown away I looked up more videos of him. As incredible as SOS was, I was absolutely astounded at what he does on The Story of One Sky,. He composed it. He has the best vocal control of any singer I have ever heard in my life, and I am a lifelong singer and listener.

Hmm... It seems that you have been officially Dimashified )) Most songs of this guy will drive you to tears... Not just because they are new (many of them are not), but because Dimash is a singer who is offering new "reading" for songs and is famous for powerful and emotional interpretation of music that catch people off guard - surprising with every song. This is apart from his 6-octave range (from baritone to soprano and whistle notes), ability to 'travel' from register to register flawlessly, change his timber as if several different singers are singing, etc. Please, react to his Sinful Passion (at the New Wave in Sochi, 2018), Love is Like a Dream, Autumn Strong (at Chinese vocal contest I Am Singer in 2017), Unforgettable Day in Gakku, 2017 (Dimash composed this song), and, Daybreak in Bastau, 2017, Diva Dance, and, of course, the songs that appeared due to collaboration with a famous Russia composer Igor Krutoy (he is usually a pianist who accompanies Dimash at the stage) - Ogni Pietra, Passione, Know, Your Love, Love of Tired Swans, and Love Is Like a Dream. They are the best examples of Dimash's repertoire.

@@ItsmeBarry Well, I'm something better with Spanish words (thousands of kilometers better, really!). But I think that sensitivity can be felt in many ways: even without understanding even a word of what someone sings; even without seeing the face of the writer, you can feel what touch transmits on the keyboard, even without sound in your reactions I can see that sensitivity in your eyes. You do, and you may not know you do, but I think for some of us you have become a kind of "permanent center of gravity." You are a "very important person", Barry!
