SOS d'un terrien en détresse is a French song composed by Michel Berger and written by Luc Plamondon in 1978 for the rock opera Starmania. The song is composed in two and a half octaves to fully exploit Daniel Balavoine's rare 2.1/2 octave range. Although frankly I didn't like the latter's voice (rest his soul) which was too mewling for me. The song was covered during a reality show" singing competition the "star accadémie" by Grégory Lemarchal , very good cover, very good voice, who won the competition despite the muscoviscidosis which unfortunately killed him at 24 years old. Grégory went to sing in Kasakhstan where Dimash heard it and learned it phonetically. Dimash is sublimating it

It's so refreshing to see a pro singer react to Dimash!! Barry, this is in no way embarassing! Crying to music is liberating! Dimash is indeed one of the best vocalists in the world right now and the effect he had on you he also had it in many of us!! It was absolutely a blast watching you react to him, it was so evident how you could immediately tell this is going to be something extraordinary, your musicality and music intelligence are more than evident!! At the Coronation Party I was telling some ladies about this guy Barry, who critiqued a singer named Dimash. None had heard of either. I explained that I had watched the video several times and had witnessed a person's face change through the power of music (talking about Barry's face). Intrigued, at 3.30 in the morning still drinking champagne, we sat down and watched this video. So, can you imagine all these ladies in their tiaras and ballgowns glued to the large screen in the early hours of the morning, waiting for the moment of Barry's enlightment, through music? They all agreed with me..the beauty of Dimash's voice, transformed the face of Barrys from tired to that of softness and totally refreshed. Furthermore, all agreed Barry is also a sensitive soul and a naturally gifted comedian.

If you go to Gloria Wu’s site ,she translates a lot of his songs to English. If you listen to more later versions of SOS, there is even more feeling in that song because he said he is singing in the memory of childhood friend Dennis Tan who was killed a few months after he sang that song in China that made him famous.

Not just because they are new (many of them are not), but because Dimash is a singer who is offering new "reading" for songs and is famous for powerful and emotional interpretation of music that catch people off guard - surprising with every song. This is apart from his 6-octave range (from baritone to soprano and whistle notes), ability to 'travel' from register to register flawlessly, change his timber as if several different singers are singing, etc. Please, react to his Sinful Passion (at the New Wave in Sochi, 2018), Love is Like a Dream, Autumn Strong (at Chinese vocal contest I Am Singer in 2017), Unforgettable Day in Gakku, 2017 (Dimash composed this song), and, Daybreak in Bastau, 2017, Diva Dance, and, of course, the songs that appeared due to collaboration with a famous Russia composer Igor Krutoy (he is usually a pianist who accompanies Dimash at the stage) - Ogni Pietra, Passione, Know, Your Love, Love of Tired Swans, and Love Is Like a Dream. I cry every time I hear this song sung by Dimash. There are other versions that show the English wording for the words he sings. By the way, Dimashs rendition of the original by Aba is completely different. When you see his version with the English subtitles you’ll understand. Welcome aboard the Dimash wagon. Boy, are you in for lots more tears to come. Like yourself I don't understand the languages but his performances pulls at your heart strings. This song by Daniel Balavoine "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" who was killed in aviation accident put Dimash on to the world stage. Lots of french speakers always pick on Dimash for pronouncing the "s" in ris and vis but how can anyone fault his performance. He fixes this so called error in his other live performances. I'd like to hear the Frenchies sing in Kazakh ! Let them eat cake, I say. Anyway, I'm glad see that one dose of Dimash has got you converted. Loved your reactions.

Dimash (dee-MAHSH) is already a world star. I was at his live solo sold-out concert in NYC last December. He is amazing live. His concerts are very dynamic, and his voice has gotten better and better since this performance from 3 yrs ago in China. The European part of his concert tour was interrupted by the pandemic, but has been rescheduled for Spring 2021.

He was only 22 when he was a contestant on the singer in China. Some songs you might want to consider live Daybreak from his Bastau concert there are subtitles on his YT channel. Sinful passion. Olympic and Know from new wave. He also has done a song for a Scifi movie coming out Creators : the past. The song is called Across Endless Dimensions it is a MV. Hi Barry! This is the kind of reactions I like. Genuine, emotional, honest. And yes, there is no need to know what he is saying. He has the ability to touch your soul. In all honesty he has spoiled me for other singers because Dimash is all I have listened to since I discovered his music 3 years ago. Please react to Autumm Strong. I have listen to him perform this song in so many opportunities and every single time it brings tears to my eyes. I have seen the translation so by now I know what the song is about, but the first time I heard it it evoked such emotion. Tears flowed freely and I did not know why, all I knew was that it touched my soul in a way no other song had. I have been "addicted" to this young man's talent ever since. And when you read about Dimash the young man you will admire him even more. So get ready because you are about to embark in a Rollercoaster of emotions. Enjoy the ride!!

When Dimash sang this song in the Chinese "The Singer" show he was completely unknown. The following morning his life changed, he woke to find he had 600 Million hits on Weibo the Chinese Instagram. He needed security guards for the rest of the series. The Kazakhstan Government were so impressed that they sponsored his first solo concert in Bastau where 30,000 people turned up. Today Dimash is a Magastar in Kazakhstan, China and Russia and has fans (Dears) all over the world. Besides his incredible 6+ Octive Voice, he is the only singer that can sing Any style of music to top professional standard. Every performance he gives is completely different, Chinese Opera, Ukrainian Folk, Rap, he does every conceivable style in his concerts Many of which are on utube. Well, to give you the links to all songs that Dimash has done are too numerous to be listed here. The song is a French (and Canadian French) made well-known by David Balavoine, who got killed, doing charity work in Africa, in a helicopter crash in Mali. It was made really popular by Grégory Lemarchal in France. Grégory died of cystic fibrosis at the age of 23. (Dimash was 22 at the time of this Hunan Television competition "Singer 2017"). Dimash's friend and buddy used to be Denis Ten, a figure skater who won the Olympic medal in 2004 in Sochi. Denis used this song as the music of his skating. Denis was murdered on 19 July 2018. -- So many tragedies attached to this song. -- Dimash performs it frequently, but his interpretation is always somewhat different from the previous ones. The latest is his performance at the Tokyo Jazz Festival a few days ago. -- This Hunan performance will always have a special place in my heart.
