The remaining contestants/performers on the show were each required to do one single original song of their own -- this was Dimash's own song that he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. Note that he also sang in both the original Kazakh as well as in Mandarin during the song. Currently his range (so far from a multitude of his live international concerts and performances) is from F2 (which can be heard in most of his performances of The Diva Dance) to a sustained D8. Dimash actually won 5 of the episodes and Sandy Lam only won 4. After overall judging scores (the audience were the judges as well as their competitor peers), she was able to get the edge over Dimash. He won 2nd place. Sandy Lam is very well known and has been long established in China for years so she was a favorite from the get go. BTW, this song, Unforgettable Day is a love story he wrote about his gf at the time. Dunno if they are still together or not.. Anyways, it's a beautiful song.

Dimash won three episodes, 1th SOS, 2th OPERA2 and 6th ADAGIO. Sandy Lam has more then 30 years long professional career in singing and she was expected winner from the beginning. He composed this song after he brake with his girlfriend.

I believe you're referring to another song of which he DID compose and the lyrics were from a famous poem but it was not Unforgettable Day. This other song was written by a man who had gone to prison and thought that his wife was leaving him (which was not true) and so he wrote the poem to her in response to the news he'd gotten.

I can't believe that I missed this notification... my favorite Dimash song. ❤ My favorite description of this song is that I feel like his voice is dragging me up the side of a mountain. Just when you think that the climb can't get any steeper or higher... he takes you there. His highest, not highest ever. Guinness book of world records states G10 (yep, ultrasound, beyond 20 Megahertz) by Georgia Brown is the current record holder. So, technically frequency, rather than audible note. As for Dimash 2nd ranking, singing is already as subjective as it can get (art is subjective). In a competition setting like this, based on votes, the subjective based result is diluted even further by popularity. I don't mean to be disrespectful in any way to other artists. Just pointing out Dimash had only a few months worth of popularity, a few months to gather fans, during the dozen episodes, compared to the other artists who had years, even decades, head start in terms of how large already their fan base was. Yet, to achieve so high ranking with so little exposure time speaks volume for Dimash. The same observation of the effect of larger fan base can be found in Sohyang, who was practically unknown when she competed in korean "Singer" and didn't win despite her now worldwide acknowledged virtuosity. No or little fanbase vs large established fanbase in a *voting* environment equals impossible to win. But, in the end, competition result doesn't matter. Dimash is king, Sohyang is queen. Not the winners of those contests. Again, no disrespect intended whatsoever toward the winners or other artists.

Mum I'm going to explain because I watch the whole competition from episode 1-14 this I'm a singer in China 2017 was a season 3. To make my story short. In season 1 & 2 the winner is a Chinese girl in 1 I forgot her name in 2 Han Hong, then in season 3 Sandy Lin all of them are Chinese so there are so many who protest in season 3 Bec. Why her Dimash is only 2nd winner he sing French, Russian, Chinese, Italian, English, and kazach languages, but Sandy Lin only sing Chinese and short English mix Chinese language but anyway Dimash now is a superstar in China. That's why in season 4 of I'm a Singer in China they won Jessie J just to change that's why I didn't watch the season 4 Bec. I'm so disappointed. That's the story but for us dears Dimash is the winner.

Thank you for your reaction. Noticed you compared kz to dimash. I'm a Filipino and I personally kz for she was under the training of my very good friend the concert king of the philippines. Kz and dimash have one thing in common and that is the make any song their own. And it ends there. Kz has no formal training whereas dimash had been trained since he was five and now for 20 years. Kz could rap but possess one voice theres low and high but for a female he's is ina low note. Dimash is a six octave voice could go from a2 to d2 below bass and more than the piano keys. Aside from the vocal range he possess different tones and semi tones. The color and timber is out of the world. Vocal fry, staccato, glissaldo, vibrato and many more. Kz is good very good but doesn't even come near and to compare them is doing dimash an injustice. Dimaah is day and kz is half a night. I watch them both perform live and dimash is like a sorcerer that will put tiy in a spell and take you to the world where there is so heavenly. So painful, heartwrenching and beyond word. He is like a master painter that each stoke connotes meaning and purpose. His live performance is beyond performance. Kz is very good, and will also make you feel something and make songs her own. Both are singers of their own but she is not his in his level. I love kz though she is a sweet girl.
