While this is a great recap of the events for those of us that are already Dropout subscribers that need a refresh - anyone on the fence to subscribing to Dropout and jump into this season at this point - this does not recap the absolute unhinged hilariousness that is this season. Do yourself a favor and subscribe to dropout for a month and just watch a couple of episodes, either from here on out or (better) from the start of this season after viewing the recap of season 1 & 2 (on this channel as well). You will forget to breath laughing.

My current understanding/ theory of the main plot is that: Cassandra is being held prisoner by her former spouse the dead giant god of summer/fire and rage. The Ratgrinders are attempting to revive this god for reasons and they killed Lucy Frostblade when she refused to convert to be a cleric of the summer rage god. I think Helio and Sol replaced the summer rage god over time and contributed to their death with the help of the elven version of the moon goddess. Additionally, I think the dead god had associations with harvest and earth which is why Sol and Helio could replace them over time. I would also guess that the summer rage god was a tyrant god which is why Kipperlilly Copperkettle and her party who are obsessed with order and fairness would want to bring them back. The summer rage god was also probably the original owner of the pride armor and Fig’s arc is that she’s going to pull a Kristen and revive this god to be a summer rage god of protection rather than control. Ok I think that’s all my thoughts! Wooo! I needed to share or else I would burst

I've been going back a lil' bit to the first season, and there is so much connection between rage and religion as a theme, helio and sol followers are rageful and kristen is doubtful after experiences. it's all very interesting.

There is a lot of crossover with Egyptian mythology too. Ra and his adventures during the night, this story and the 12 gates he goes through are the basis of our "modern" timekeeping- the 24 hour clock. Timekeeping was and is still fundamental to agricultural management. Also the 12 come from visible bright stars that cross the night sky from dusk till dawn

mild correction it seems like lucy (and yolanda) were not only killed but sacrificed, which is interesting because theyre both clerics! my personal theory is that theyre sacrificing clerics and so we’ll see more clerics being killed, which i can see with the desperate situation theyre already in with the pass/fail thing and the possibility of buddys grandfather becoming the new teacher. in all, i think it implies kristen could be in danger, which is especially interesting with fig becoming her guardian since the beginning of the season! and so thematically the thought of the god being reawakened as a deity of protection is sooo good

This copy read could've benefitted from another take. Brennan is fantastic at bringing big spontaneous energy to moments requiring an emotionally intense delivery. Some additional takes, and/or an in house rehearsal would have made for a performance worthy of the written material. Without these measures the performance is less than the talent is capable of, and unworthy of the performances seen during the run of the show. Brennan is worth it.

This season has been quite a weird mixed bag so far. Y’all took some of the aspects I wasn most excited for, Gilear and Ayda and others immediately out. I don’t feel like Ally’s characterization of ignoring Cassandra at the beginning mad ANY logical sense. Plus I don’t feel the episodes are long enough. And sometimes it’s frustrating to hear Siobhan trying SO hard to crack a zinger everytime anyone makes a comment that is even a possible set up. I really like her, a lot, it’s just this season she feels like she’s stomping on other peoples toes to crack the most jokes and it’s become predictable and annoying.
