50 years yeah you must be around my age..... I've listened to most all of them growing up in the Bay Area,,, S Fran. & MARIN County and they don't come any better than John Mayall and the bluesbreakers..... Alvin Lee is another great !!! Thanks for the Memories !!!

BB King and Robert Johnson are the godfathers of the Blues. They were creating and playing the Blues before Mayall was born. The Blues are the true original American music. It originated among the black sharecroppers working and starving in the Mississippi River Delta. I grew up on it in the 50's. Mayall is a master.

I began playing harmonica at age 14, when Hohner Blues Harps were $6.50. Today I am going to be 69 next month, have been playing for 54 years. Back when I was young, Steve Miller, Bob Dylan and John Mayall were my icons and heroes. Dylan was terrible on harmonica back then! It's because he was using a neck holder; but I could never pick up that signature "Shuff Shuff" Mayall had on Room to Move. Saw him play on the Santa Monica Pier several years back.

The theme in the lyrics fits so well with the music. Unique tone from those giant Buddy fingers on guitar. The flat chords used on this track are perfect. The way Mayall throws in that quick Gb chord which seems to weave in and out of the song is sublime. Even sneaks in a Db chord. All flat chords bar one - a minor chord, just to remind listeners of the melancholy normally associated with blues loss and blues love. Sensational song which I only recently stumbled on. Learnt that it spans back to a 2001 album Mayall released called Stories.

Maybe you are young, but good taste in music. I have listened to John Mayall since 1970 when i was 15 years "young" . ("Buddy Guy words"). By the way the great Peter Green was the best guitar player John Mayall ever had (my personal opinion). Mick Taylor and Buddy Whittington are excellents too. Cheers Doug
