Tjodalv - What do you think of the idea of doing a complete remix of this album? I love SBD but the production is too blurry, if you know what I mean. Particularly the drums, they severely lack punch and articulation. Overall it seems everything has a lot of reverb and the frequencies from all the instruments are interfering too much with each other. Fixing the drums alone would be a massive improvement. I know Dimmu remixed the Puritanical album. It didn't need it but SBD does. I hope you will consider the idea and pass it onto Shagrath. A lot of fans would be pleased.

If i remember correctly....there were 2 versions of the album made. The first one was guitar and drum focused I believe and the second which is what we know of was keyboards and synth focused. As I think Shagrath ans Silenoz went back to the studio to make it that way. Source Astennu.....i think.... lol watch his interviews he mentions it. same with the fact it was recorded with E standard and B stardard tunings. Pretty Cool IMO! Whether they would ever release that .......I highly doubt it but ive allllllways wondered how that album would sound mixed "normally"

@@Nyralim That's interesting. I didn't know that. If the keys are just lower in the mix in that version, I think the drums still need to be remixed and EQ'd. You hear drums alone on the intro to Phantasmagoria and they just sound like shit.

As someone said here, there are 2 versions existing. The released version has its charm, but I totally agree that the drums need more place and punch

@@tjodalvtheone Do you think version 2 with a drum makeover (remix, EQ etc.) is a possibility? Your drumming has been influential to mine, particularly on Enthrone Darkness. Great stuff. Do you remember what ride cymbal you were using on that album? Cheers. \m/

@@Nyralim I remember in a 2018 interview with Shagrath and Silenoz, Shagrath in particular said he thought there was too much reverb on the album as well. Also, Shagrath like Tjodalv said they recorded 2 versions of it but the label decided to release the one with more reverb.

3:34 - in the following riffs; what is Astennu doing here? I've never noticed that guitar part in the record.
@georgecostan32482 ай бұрын
It looks like he plays the same thing as Mustis, but on a lower octave. Relistened to the part on the record and there is something going on at that part, but the mix buries it a bit.

Why did shagrath go offstage at the end? got tired or something lol
