One of my clients was the Bellerby of the Adam's & Bellerby fairground that was finally based in Seabun, Sunderland until closure, he then ran Roker Walk Amusement Arcade until his retirement.

Loved this place but they have become so expensive to visit, I am not surprised that it has closed.

The rent went up. Most of the staff were volunteers.

A shame the collection has to be broken up but at least not being sold and spread out over many places. I wondered what happened to Shaws Moon Rockets, I remember them being at Harewood traction engine rally and bought a video showing them being restored and built up

Apologies for not responding sooner Shaws moon rockets was the star attraction at dingles and I believe this will move to Statfold barn Railway I regret not riding them when I was there so hopefully next year. Any way many thanks for watching and taking the time to message.

@@dustyshelfcollectables No worries I have missed posts myself. Thanks for the update on the ride. I will have to watch that video again one day and I took video myself at Harewood, which I will upload in my Archive one day. It added to the thrill of the ride with the contra rotating centre making it twice as fast LOL It was fast anyway.

We were told that the old landlord who let them use the premises for next to nothing died. The new landlord upped the rent which they couldn't afford. Shame, absolutely love Dingles 🎠❤

Very interesting and a sad day from what I hear. I noticed that you only showed us the mirror that made you look thin and showed Popeye after he ate the spinach, lol. Who was the young Laidy riding next to you on the hobby horses? I see the wife contributed some videoing and it is good to know that this collection will have the same caretakers. At the end of this video, you again avoided the mirror room as if it were the plague, lol. One thing us stout fellas don't need is something making us look more robust and show off our 6 packs, keg, padding, willie cover, you get what I mean. What fun and great video, Jersey Bill
@dustyshelfcollectables2 күн бұрын
Apologies for not responding sooner, You do make me laugh, it wasn't a conscious effort to avoid the mirrors but I did have footage of the mirror (delicately put) making me look more robust but no one wants to see that. You did get me in trouble though she does not want to be in any of the videos and I missed that in the editing! Hopefully the collection will move forward well in the new home and I will be sure to visit! As always many thanks!
