What did you think of the hotel? Thank you to everyone in Banda for making my trip so memorable! Hopefully I can make it back! Sorry the video ends so abruptly at the end too... I was having such a nice evening with my new friends from the Netherlands that I forgot to properly end the video. ごめんなさい

Maybe this world is really small, but it takes fate to meet! That hotel is not just a hotel, it's like a museum! The boss is really amazing, very generous, you are lucky to meet him! It is an honor to see this ancient mansion, all the hotel owners, and the locals you know, thanks for sharing! 👍😃🙌

That hotel is haw droppingly beautiful. Definitely going to stay there on my next visit to Central Maluku. I love your videos Nick because of your appreciation for the history of where you are. It just makes Maluku even more wild and special (also considering there are literally over 2000 islands to explore). Maluku is such a rich experience!

Terima kasih thank you Nick for sharing and just another wow for this video. I've been a couple of times to Ambon, Ceram, Saparua, Haruku, Nusalaut but never to Banda. Since you show us Banda I akso want to go there to feel the history at the VOC time. Dutch students should go there and learn about how the Dutch were getting rich of the Moluccan Islands in particularly Banda. Thanks again Nick and keep up the great job and passion.
@DenUitvreter2 жыл бұрын
Quite a few Dutch made a buck there, some even got rich. But the Dutch didn't get rich of Banda, nor from Indonesia, nor from the whole VOC. The Dutch were already very wealthy befor the 17th century and got filthy rich from the European trade they dominated. The entire VOC was hardly a significant contribution.
@El-0p02 жыл бұрын
@@DenUitvreter The spice trade is what made the Dutch extremely wealthy.
@DenUitvreter2 жыл бұрын
@@El-0p0 BS, because it's the only thing you think to know about Dutch history doesn't make it important. Peak VOC had 160 merchant ships, the Dutch European merchant fleet consisted of 20.000 to 30.0000 ships. That explains how the Dutch Republic was already filthy rich before the VOC finally started paying dividend in 1633.

Fyi, rumah2 di Maluku masih banyak pakai konsep begini sampai skrg. Entah bangunan baru maupun lama. Orang Maluku senangnya rumah2 dgn konsep kolonial begini. Tiang2 besar + jendela2 besar & jarang pakai AC.
