Dinnerladies Series 2 Episode 9 | Gravy

Dinnerladies (stylised in lowercase as dinnerladies) is a British sitcom created, written and co-produced by Victoria Wood. Two series were broadcast on BBC One from 1998 to 2000, with 16 episodes in total. The programme is repeated on Gold, and the complete series was released on DVD in November 2004.

"That's green!" As a man, I ALWAYS defer to women when it comes to colors, especially green. 1 in 10 of us have color vision problems (including me), but with women it's less than 1 in 1000. When I go clothes shopping, I always like to have my sister along. (Used to be my wife before we were divorced.)

@@scottandrewbrass1931 Lol! Isn't English a funny language! I shopped with my wife, then we got divorced, then I shopped with my sister. "Used to be my wife" meant, in this context, that my shopping companion used to be my wife. I can hear my freshman comp teacher yelling at me about the phrase in parentheses modifying the previous noun (my sister) unless stated otherwise, so in that way you read it correctly, but in reality it could mean either, given the context. I still defer to any woman when it comes to questions of color.

When she says "everything is spelt Eckle-feckon and pronouce Cocubury" she doesn't put on an accent, that's her actual voice and it's using the same inflections she did during her stand ups when she went into her little stories. Perfection :)

Ive never understood why they would get new uniforms when they were about to close the canteen. It's the only fault in the series apart from the Ireland slip of the tongue.

In autumn 1981, the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company staged a new production of The Mikado, only a few months before they closed for good. At that time, they had to pinch pennies. Air Berlin was about to introduce a new colour scheme and logo shortly before they went bust. Companies sometimes do silly things in an effort to survive. So, introducing new uniforms is not that strange, after all.
