hey! I made this video a bit ago and had no idea if would get this much attention, it was just for fun so some parts are a little inconsistent (and if you disagree with my opinions, thats totally fine! ) I know most of these games are getting updates that will improve them a lot, and I'd be happy to do a remake after a bunch of updates are out so they compare a bit more fairly with each other (and also so I can get some more experience and compare them better) Thank you so much for watching tho! and if you want me to do more dino game videos suggestions are always welcome :)

You said "The Isle Legacy" graphics could be improved but that it won't happen because they don't update the game anymore, you do realize that the legacy is ONLY temporary right..? It's only still there so people had more options to play since currently on envirma there isn't many dinos of too much to do right now but once envirma is done then legacy will be gone - so technically they ARE updating it because envirma IS the updated legacy. The devs even say this in the patch notes too, so you're basically comparing the same game that is in the middle of being updated but say it's not being updated anymore? I been playing all these games since Alpha & a couple since before opened to the public, I follow along in there discords & steam/website but I feel you don't considering the criticism you're making is basically from only playing the games recently after many updates for only an hour but not bother to look into what's to come - it's like judging a movie based on the title without even knowing what it's about.

Man, its honestly kinda sad how little Saurian has developed. Its been over five years and they really haven't done anything major other than triceratops, but considering they've been planning on adding rex, pachy, and i think ankylosaurus, For years now. Its kinda rediculous.

I hadn't heard anything about path of titans til now so I looked it up and I'm interested. The dinos are kind of odd but not in a bad way. It's realistic enough that it doesn't feel silly to look at them, but they're also still clearly somewhat fantasy. The color variety is absurd which is fantasy, and then there's things like the proportions being slightly wrong and such. It sounds like I'm insulting it but I'm really not. I think they struck an interesting balance between fantasy dinosaurs and realistic dinosaurs. They're absurd enough that you can customize them to your liking, but they still feel like the animal overall. It's not like The Isle where they'll just rip off Jurassic Park designs and call it a day. Overall I think I'm going to give the game a try.

Gotta say I was digging your critiques until you said less foliage because it’s easy to lose dinos. That’s a point in its favor. It makes terrain an element of the hunt, something prey naturally use to their advantage. It brings risk and reward to moving beyond the bounds of a dense jungle into a sparse field, for example.

The isles a fricking game, not real life. If people don’t have fun they won’t play and it will end up like saurian. Besides the foliage doesn’t only get in the way of the hunts, not only you can’t see the prey, you can’t see ANYTHING. I don’t enjoy a game if I fall off a cliff every 5 minutes because bushes take up my entire screen.

Also can't stand Legacy simply because of stuff like the god aweful, slow turn radius. Plus part of being a good carno player in the isle is managing your drift and knowing how to slow down and turn. Also each dino having their own special ability/gimmick is what makes evrima more fun than any other dino game to me

Tip for Beasts of bermuda: if you cant stand the bright colored dinos you can use the in game skin filter to make the surrounding dinos more brown or grey and you can use the random color select in the top of the skin customization hud and try to find a balance of bright and natural for you

I know I’m 3 years late, and I’m not sure if BoB has PvP, but if it does, then seeing brighter dinosaurs would give you can advantage aswell as if your dinosaur was greens/browns being harder to see. It would be easier to hunt prey and fight.

For me Evrima has the best controlls bcs there are so much different actions and each dinosaur has its own ability. And the devs will implement much more Stuff like weather, diets, elders, fractures and other things.

Its isle evrima all day for me, once it starts getting dinos and fixing the rubber bandimg the game is super fun. Not a fan of bobs unlimited growth or how long it takes to grow but the combat can be fun and one of the best skill based dinosaur games out there. Movement is amazing

I would love to have a *good* single player dinosaur survival game. Saurian is closest, but it's development is so glacial it makes The Isle seem downright fast paced. Oh well. I guess I'll stick to The Isle until the universe conjures up some Elon Musk-esque eccentric billionaire who shares my niche desire and funds it themselves.

I actually enjoy Saurian despite its faults. I'm not the most social person, so playing with AI usually suits me just fine. Although I do also love The Isle. But sometimes, I just reach my wit's end with people constantly killing me just because my hearing and sight irl aren't very good and need a break while still playing a dinosaur game. Also, in my particular situation right now, I don't have the best internet connection where I'm living now and that leads to a lot of frustrating lag when playing The Isle that just ups my chances of someone killing me... So I'm stuck playing Saurian until I can manage to upgrade my connection. Despite my issues though, I do generally love The Isle and Saurian both. In fact, I was a server admin on a few servers on The Isle a few years ago before Evrima came out and I miss that.

If I were to make a tier list like that, I would include a “Art style and design of animals” category because it is important for me. 1) Now Path of Titans gets S tier in this category from me because the models are mostly cutting edge scientifically accurate dinosaurs, and I love to feel myself in a skin of a real animal and not a Jurassic Park monster. 2) The Isle (both legacy and evrima) is an A tier because the art style has both pros and cons. On the bad side some of the animals are highly fictionalised and made into action monsters that have nothing to do with real dinosaurs. But holy bongus, the stylisation looks so nice! Even inaccurate dinosaurs look stunningly beautiful and have unique character to them. 3) Beasts of Bermuda... Has questionable art choices. Animals look almost toylike. Some newer models look good, but overall B tier. 4) Saurian is a shell of a game right now, but the designs of animals SLAP GOOD. I am in love with the properly feathered and highly accurate Dakotaraptor. Saurian right now has the most accurate paleo creature designs in any human media to this day. So S tier.

really enjoyed hearing your opinions on these games :) I like the customization in PoT so far and that you unlock skins. I have been able to make fun skins but I think ur right in that we could have more colors to choose from it would be neat if when you unlock a skin you can now use that skins colors for every other skin you've unlocked (you would still have to upgrade the skin fully to have access to all 30 of the colors that come with it) just like. an addon to your idea of having all the colors being available for all marking types I like the idea of being able to unlock colors as well as patterns and I also like the idea of some colors being specific to certain dinosaurs (deinonychus doesnt get any of ceratosaurus's colors to use, etc.) and it could lead to a lot of really fun combos

dunno if those colors could be used for any marking on a pattern or only the corresponding marking for each pattern though (ex: unlocking a color in the 4th marking slot could mean u can only use that color on the 4th marking slot for each pattern)

For evrima, and which I completely respect your opinion. For Legacy, and I've played Legacy for over 3,000 hours. Personally with the controls and turn radius+clipping say you're a smaller dinosaur like a Utah. With videos and such as Utah vs. Rex. The combat is usually only a fight of turn radiuses, making combat unbalanced and not too investing. For evrima I prefer how some dinosaurs can turn on a dime, like how alot of animals can so you can't lose your 6 hour rex to a tail riding utah/dilo, although I main dilo and yes use this method, it is still really unfair and clunky, it honestly makes the game a slog. In evrima once you spend time learning the controls and how the turn looks it's pretty easy and feels nice and smooth. Hunting seems to have true stakes, and once you properly get a hunt done it feel rewarding. If you're the huntee then you can properly defend yourself other than getting rode to death. In my opinion I just prefer the combat and mobility much more in Evrima than Legacy and have had far more fun in Evrima

I personally like the flight controls in Evrima, because they feel real and you can't just hover afk in the air for an hour. It does suck when you try to jump off a cliff or tree to turn your fall into a glide; fall recovery is delayed and occasionally unresponsive, requiring a second button press (and hold). If you or the game messes that up, you'll die to fall damage simply from trying to take flight. (But at least it's only an hour for Ptera to grow.) I just like realistic flight controls.

the isle Evrima - going to add a better customization with nesting update, the devs said what they had in legacy is really bad compared to the new skin system. Night time is also not in yet, it will be added in a few updates. The graphics of the map is going to change aswell, as they now have a level designer making amazing environments while they focus on making the game better. Upcoming updates -perk system -diets -fractures -nesting -skin customization -venom/poison -gore -MANY new dinosaurs (all legacy dinosaurs plus 15 new dinosaurs) yeah i could go on but it'd just... take alot of typing Just the isle evrima is still early in development and getting more things added to it every update. It will show more promise when all of its mechanics & features are out and they can focus more on releasing dinosaurs.

I heard that the next update (Update #4) for Evrima will have diets where your dino will require specific foods. (Some foods require you to travel around the map) If you eat the right foods, you will grow faster. If you eat whatever is available, your growth will be the slower speed. The developers hope that it will help with the overall gameplay. In Update #5, they are planning to add nesting, a new skin system (they say that it's going to have a lot more options than legacy...including different patterns), and possibly a new day/night cycle with night vision. I don't know how long it's going to take for them to update all of it...but hopefully it won't take too long. I do agree that there is not much to do in the game currently. I'm excited though to see how well the game will improve.

@@irondragon1785 Yeah, I would think the main physics for the pachy would be mostly finished or at least easier to develop compared to the deino and the ptera which are two new unique types of gameplay in terms of their physical movements and feeding habits. I'm no developer, but the body structure is something that the developers have worked on before. I'm assuming they know what their doing, therefore they don't need to test it as much as they needed to test update #3. However, even though the pachy might now take long, the new food system is supposed to be in update #3 as well. I'm not sure how extensive it is and how much it impacts each unique dino's growth rate. I think that would be more difficult to develop, since different dinos are going to require different diets. Plus they might change some things on the map to include the different types of food, which could take awhile.

POT wins for graphics for sure. Some little details like your Dino’s skin being wet after getting out of water and you can see the dinosaurs’ bellies moving as they breath, and it goes faster if you sprint. Also the different emotes like shaking and stretching, little details like that imo make a game worth playing, even though they don’t technically change gameplay in anyway. Once they add growth it will be even better I think. The isle I prefer the roars and movements, the Dinos feel like they have weight to them, POT has too many hissing roars and movement feels too light sometimes, both have pros and cons

Just a suggestion(?) if you like natural colors or natural gameplay, I suggest WWD realism! They have realistic skins and profiles, and you can enjoy the server without a group pretty easily :] For Beasts of Bermuda I mean, and they are a PoT centered server so they have that too!

8:04 that is why we have something called sniffing You can smell footprints and blood. it’s one of the best tracking abilities probably the best I hunt a lot of people in this game and they run into a forest but I usually sniff and follow their footprints. And btw when you run you leave footprints behind also I bite them so I can smell their blood trail. That is how I usually hunt. And btw I agree with you with Beasts Of Bermuda I didn’t enjoy the game. But The isle is my favorite game. Also my main Dino is Deino I like it’s turning radius it matches real gator turning irl. I haven’t played saurian or path of titans soooo I might play them soon. Have a nice day bro!

I will say my current ranking of both those games for customization is probably about equal now, I just wish path of titans would give us a bit more colors to play with, and of course the isle only has one skin pattern, which is super limiting (they have less color limits, but I wish they'd just give us the best of both worlds lol)

For now in game available only infinite run mode, but soon I am going to add there story mode(for now there only tutorial level ) and survival mode. thank you!! I would def suggest checking out path of titans, they have added a lot of good things to the game and there are even modded servers which are a lot of fun! I haven't played the new version of the isle in a bit, but i do see a good number of people enjoying it. (not multiplayer strictly but i'll always recommend the forest, its a fantastic survival game with a good little bit of story as well!)

Ok please say more about evrima’s flight mechanic. I feel like they did a very good job with it. If your sad that your newborn pteranodon’s stam drains but it’s because it’s just a baby it’s not really ment to fly right on the spot. But good video.

you have a good point! I have played a bit as an adult ptera but I only had footage of me playing as a baby one for the video. The ptera controls definitely aren't the worst, I just don't enjoy them personally (I could have worded my opinions on them better tho, still working on that)

I play both evrima and bob and god damn it’s so difficult for me to switch between the fliers. The bob pteranodons are so easy to get and it took me only seconds to understand what to do, while evrima I just found it difficult, like it just wouldn’t really work right and I felt it could have possible been simplified. After playing LEGO Jurassic World for hundreds of hours doing what's essentially dinosaur roleplaying, I have been looking to buy a new dinosaur game, and this video helped out a lot with that. So far, Path of Titans seems to be the best one for me, it has more up to date dinosaurs and it seems like the community is small yet solid, it's on Switch and the price is reasonable for the basic backer pack. Saurian is the other one I have been wanting to buy for a while now, but the problem with that one is that the development team is small so progress is really slow.

Personally I don’t recommend path of titans at all in its current state, I’ve been playing since early 2020 and have seen how far the game has fallen, quality wise and community wise. The devs constantly focus on quantity over quality instead of vice versa, in terms of accuracy, yes some playables are fairly accurate but very rounded as if it’s meant to please younger audiences which makes up a large majority of the player base, however many playables are completely inaccurate in terms of behavior/playstyle and general looks, kai has lips and is slimmed down despite being a pudgy aquatic reptile, pachy has lips for no reason at all, pycno is just carno, thalasso is an aquatic pterosaur despite being known to be a inland predator, and rex is just an edited daspleto, bars is a single vertebrae that they had to build on, which led to a bland looking hadrosaur, playable sizing is all over the place, biggest example is eo, one of the most oversized playables and one of the strongest by far. Balance is abhorrent, some are borderline useless whether due to abilities, movement, or just poor choices by the devs. The game is completely reliant on mods to keep players coming back, many mods making the real game look like dirt. Animations, largely shared between playables, very noticeable no need to go on. The community however, oh boy. A long list purely based on their discord. Dev bootlickers, mods that oppress the fuck out of people, generally toxic and over sensitive people, and of course, the people who make the most unfunny memes of all time. Yes there are good people but they are overshadowed by the shit hole that is the community. Avoid at all costs. As for Saurian? It’s development is completely handicapped by the fact that it aims for perfect accuracy, they are constantly remaking foliage and have remade their tyrannosaurus 2-3 years ago and have only recently began making more progress. Basically Saurian is the least recommended. BoB and The Isle are your best bet however the last playable TI has received was in Oct 2021. Quality over quantity gone too far, BoB is just BoB, fun or not is completely on the player

@@aron9620 Thank you for your reply, my guy. You inspired me to make a bit more researcy and now I am a bit iffy on what game should I play. To be completely honest Path of Titans still seems like the pick for me, I've played a bit of the mobile version with a Deinonychus and it's fine enough, but the game's current issues have implanted some doubt in my mind because it's really kind of a crapshoot in many areas. Beasts of Bermuda, on the other hand, seems to have been improved considerably since this video's review and I might just try it out if I get the chance. Apparently a lot of people also complain about The Isle, specifically Evrima, but if Legacy is still up I will definitely try it. As for Saurian, I still have some hope for it, but yeah, I've talked to people about it and almost everyone agrees the game is dead. Such a shame too, the entire reason I wanted that game to succeed was because I fucking love T. Rex and it would have been amazing to play an accurate version of it. Edit: ok, apparently path of titans supports crypto, now i don't think i want to play it anymore

I think you should try community servers in PoT, something like Azaroa or Islander. On top of mods the rules make for a lot better gameplay. Also collisions are a good thing, otherwise fast Dinos can just attack with no repercussion, like it was in the isle. Have tiny creatures just solo big ones easily.

Saurian is a huge disappointment. I backed the game on Kickstarter they promised too much stuff and it's been years and the game is basically the same as it was when it came out. Saurian taught me to never trust a Kickstarter.

I see people constantly complain about BoB, other people barf choice of dino colours. I don't think this existed when this video was made, I do not remember, but as of now, there is a option setting specifically to remove any neon colours on dinosaurs, and it works well, it makes hot pink look pale brown.

Cool video! Just wanted to say though that it can definitely be hard to get used to evrima and its collision between dinos. Especially as I too played a lot of legacy before, its a learning curve for sure. Basically combat in evrima is completely different from legacy, so I'm guessing you might have had a bad experience since you're so used to legacy's style. The hitbox issue you brought up as well isn't actually the issue in evrima, the hitboxes themselves are actually pretty good. But right now there's a lot of desync which means where you see your dinosaur being and where the game thinks your dinosaur is are different, thus causing you to get hit by stuff you didn't think came close to hitting. Other than that though great video! Definitely going to subscribe.

For me ive only played 3 of the games. Beasts of Bermuda, Ervima and Path of Titans. For me I like Ervima the most, the controls made sense to me and I quickly picked up on how Alt turn, Drift and fly effectively and easily. I like having alot of plants around in a game because it gives prey a chance to hide and predators have to actually rely on different things, like hearing and scent to track people down. And with Update 5 being stress tested right now and seeing how the customization will work I think ill like the customization and the challenges that come with it. Another thing ill add here is the Official servers, I semi like Officials and will gladly still play on them on a daily. Now, Beasts of Bermuda is a game I spend alot of time on. I agree the customization is alot, like alot alot (But you can turn down the bright colors with filters and they have a color blindness filter so thats nice). but with more customization comes more challenges, brighter dinosaurs are easier to find and thus track down and kill while someone with camo will be able to hide easier and sneak attack others. Like Ervima I picked up on the controls fast and I like the different abilities that everything has. The models however are not the best, they are kinda toy like but there are a few nicer ones (I like the Velo and the new Apato the most) but the others just arnt that good. Now one thing I do like in this game is how much skill is actually needed to be able to survive, people can specialize on different things. Like Ervima im adding the Official servers here, well I dont like them much, I quickly left officials and im now hapilly playing on a Chill server where admins host events, such as having us all fight an admin grown dino or finding something hidden on the map. (And with Dueling now added we have a ton of fun dueling each other and teaching eachother ways to get around different dinosaurs attacks) With PoT. I fell out of the game very quick, I really didnt like the constant need of questing to be able to grow and gain points to be able to do things, it makes it stressful because if your not questing your not progressing in the game. I also didnt like the controls that much but with a little bit of playing I figured them out. Also, with the way the growth and dying works being killed in this game just means you loose a little bit of growth instead of loosing everything like Ervima (with the Reincarnation thing is BoB, its a bit different, having tested it if you wernt ready to have to reincarnate or ressurect after death it will give you alot of negatives). Now for officials for PoT... Yea, no, I fell out of them instantly and ill play on anything but the officials. In full I like Ervima and BoB the most, but both have very different play styles that I use for them.

It's very interesting how perception can differ between people regarding those things^^. I for example think PoT customization is far ahead of Legacy because it has different patterns to choose from (Legacy having only one standard pattern, just different colours) while not being as flashy and "neon" as BoB. On the other hand Evrimas controls and gameplay is much more fun to me than legacy, most dinosaurs have alternate attack like the Raptor pounce or the Tenonto stun, also being a baby is way to hard in legacy because they're just slow as hell, in Evrima Carnos and Utahs are already pretty swift as juveniles. I also don't know what problem your pc had with Saurian, I never had any problems playing it on highest graphics with my 6 y.o. graphics card xD I think the games biggest Issue is its lack of multiplayer and playable dinosaurs, again regarding that it should be mentioned that both poT and BoB have a lot of playable dinosaurs Legacy still has quite a few and Evrima has only 8. Regarding the long growth timers it kinda acts as a way of selection to essentially prevent "To many T. rex on the map" the longer a dinosaur takes to grow the more likely it is players won't have the patience to grow and the more likely they will die before reaching adult so you end up having more small dinos on the map than large ones, which obviously is more realistic

i personally enjoy saurian more than any of these games and i tried them all i can play on max graphics which is very good just like the models themselves you see every individual scale on the skin even tell the little differences of the leaves the controls seem realistic to me and all i want is a game where i feel like a real dinosaur, the ai might be dumb but compared to the other survival games with ai they are way better with the same needs that the player has...although they need some improvement the growth has actual meaning, as a young triceratops you can find big herds to have more chances of survival and as dakotaraptor you climb and glide from trees...all this makes the growth more unique than any of the other dinosaur survival games in my opinion rather than just walking and gaining power over time in hopes that no one will attack you also development is not dead every month they release devlog and in two months they made dynamic spawn system, t rex new model growth is ready and they prepare new UI just because the patches come out slowly doesn't mean there is no development, they spend all the time to make them as perfect as possible before releasing them and because i know someone will say it, i don't give a fuck if RJ is asshole all i want is the game im not being his friend or something

I play PoT on mobile (because my computer can’t handle that either) and it’s very fun. I paid for all the dinos and I love it very much. But I really wish I could play The Isle. Ok, after watching your video I decided to buy Saurian. I think that despite all the criticism, which are fair, this is the only game with the real intention to depict how really were the dinosaurs in the Mesozoic. You know, the other games just continue perpetuating the Jurassic Park mistakes, like the absence of feathers in some dinosaurs such as the Dromaeosauridae ("raptors", for the Jurassic Park fans). I hope the developers watch your video too and try to improve this game, which has the most potential and passion for the dinosaurs.

Path of titans is currently working on a quest overhaul so once it’s out you will see a lot of new quests. Eventually you will be able to get skins for nesting like an achievement. And you will be able to unlock Dino perks with quests

my opinions on this have actually changed since i made the video! honestly, I don't think either version of the game's take on collision is the right answer. If I was going to choose the best type of collision I would go with how Minecraft does collision, where its a soft collision box that will slowly push players away from each other if their collision boxes are intersecting. Is it perfectly realistic? no, but it would eliminate players getting stick to each other during fights, while still not having zero collision.

I think Path of Titans is technically a better game than the Isle and I don't think I could go back to the Isle after playing PoT, but the atmosphere, tension and emersion the Isle has is unbeatable. Idk why. (Ps this is all the Isle legacy. Evrima is pretty much unplayable to me currently and a huge downgrade.)
