@@coryrobin4539 Well, they both come from the same time period, musical movement, sang for the same band, etc. Vocally they couldn't be more different, but their styles are similar. If anything, Dio's live singing reminds me of Janis Joplin and Stevie Knicks. Y'know, that old school hippie type of freestyle where they're vocalizing their emotions on stage and jamming like crazy.

The 80s was the best and music as well and I got to see R. J. D. Here in Baltimore city at the Baltimore Civic Center in 1986 I was 17 and what a great show he performed and the dragon the light show every thing wow.

I met Ronnie back in 1986 backstage after a concert and I was surprised at how short he was. He has an outstanding and powerful voice. Rest in Peace to Ronnie and he is definitely missed.

For the curious asking, this performance was filmed in Philly at the Spectrum during Dio's 1984-1985 "The Last In Line Tour." August 25, 1984 is the correct date. Whoever uploaded the official video without providing any info, should be fired.

16 years old when I saw Ronnie James Dio at the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, BC, Canada on December 28, 1985 from the Sacred Heart Tour. Opening the show for Dio was Swedish Yngwie Malmsteen, the 22-year-old whiz kid (at the time) who has a channel here on youtube. Incredible concert from start to finish.
