The band is on fire. The piano player gives the song an added layer of improvisation. Rhythm guitar fills in beautifully. The great DW sounds good as ever. The band really makes this version even better then the recording. From the steady drums to the moving bass line, this version rocks.

This song is so smoothly elegant... It transports back to the softer sounds of FM Radio in the early 80s. Thanks for posting this performance! Dionne is legend...

I love this song! This was written by Isaac Hayes. Dionne Warwick loved it so much she begged Isaac Hayes to give it to her according to the story! Isaac said no a few times! Then he finally gave in! And let her have it😂 which I'm glad she got it it fits her very well👍👍👍❤

She looks so much younger here than in her other 1979 appearances. Like 31-32 years old at most and not 39 as she was. 1973-1977 looks as well as early eighties 1980-1983 were the best looking of her. She looked like a doll. Exotic beauty. As far as the voice is concerned she was at her absolute peak during those years

I was wondering what television talk show and what country that this performance originated.
@jimgurganious66429 ай бұрын
The host is Mike Douglas (seen at the end). He was a daytime talk show host here in the US.
@jasonburger35339 ай бұрын
@@jimgurganious6642 Thank you for that information. I remember the "Mike Douglas Show" being on in the 1970s, maybe a bit beyond that, but had been born in the 1970s, so I was not watching daytime television talk shows at the time, but they had a lot of them during that era and than much later in the 1990s, but those talk shows were not like Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin, Hour Magazine with Gary Collins, the Jon Davidson Show, and the Donahie show, which actually began in 1967 and went through 1996. As for Dionne on Mike Douglas in 1979 performing "Deja Vu", that appears to be a master tape or something that had been studio-based, as there are all those large moving numbers on the tape. Videocassette recorders were introduced in 1975,.but not that commonly used in 1979, not really commonly in use until the mid to late 1980s when the prices went down and VHS, for Video Home System, had become the most widely used format, exceeding the Beta video system. Thank you, again, for that information.

Déjà vu Déjà vu Déjà vu Yeah, déjà vu This is insane All you did was say hello Speak my name Feeling your love Like a love I used to know Long ago How can this be? You're a different space in time Come to me And feel like I'm home In a place I used to know So long ago They call it déjà vu (déjà vu) Could you be the dream that I once knew? (Déjà vu) Is it you? Déjà vu (déjà vu) Could you be the dream that might come true? (Déjà vu) Shining through I keep remembering me I keep remembering you Déjà vu Déjà vu This is divine I've been waiting all my life Filling time Looking for you That's worth more than you could know Long ago Come to me now We don't have to dream of love We know how It was somewhere before It's as if I loved you so So long ago Yes, it's déjà vu (déjà vu) Could you be the dream that I once knew? (Déjà vu) Is it you? Déjà vu (déjà vu) Could you be the dream that might come true? (Déjà vu) Shining through I keep remembering me I keep remembering you Déjà vu Ooh, it must be déjà vu Yes, it feels like déjà vu Hey, it's gotta be déjà vu Oh, yes, it must be déjà vu Déjà vu (déjà vu) Could you be the dream that I once knew? (Déjà vu) Is it you? Déjà vu (déjà vu) Could you be the dream that might come true? (Déjà vu) Shining through Déjà vu (déjà vu) Could you be the dream that I once knew? (Déjà vu) Is it you? Déjà vu (déjà vu) Could you be the dream that might come true? (Déjà vu) Shining through
