I've not tried VI I've tried the born in Rome which I'm sure is a lighter fragrance. A lady sales woman is directing me to lighter fragrances. Its nice when you wear Dhi and everyone says you smell great . REMEMBER I didn't like it when I first smelt it but now I love it and I'm sure I'll love the Valentino Intense also .However I'm going to try the lighter fragrances and see what it is the lady is teaching me.

You keep confusing me. I think you are talking about the original DHI, your frag for life, and not the DHI 2020 version. I only figured it out because DHI 2020 has the name on the cap and not the bottom of the bottle like the original DHI. Seen from other reviewers, and they claim they smell different.

@@agooglecouple2228 Dior Homme Intense (DHI) is one of my fragrances for life. Dior Homme 2020: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2aqYmOvjb-apqc is a very underrated fragrance that I think is fantastic. I don't think it's on the same level as DHI though. Fantastic, but not as epic as DHI. Hope that helps.

Great comparison video and evaluation. Been waiting for this video a long time. I stopped by Bloomingdale’s to try Valentino Uomo Intense for the first time and was struck by how well they emulated the Iris note. In the end Dior Homme Intense is the most gratifying of all the Iris fragrances I’ve tried. DHI lasts longer and I find it intoxicating. If you own DHI, you don’t need Valentino Uomo Intense. Unfortunately DHI is not distributed in the US though occasionally discounters carry it at not such a discount. Dior Homme Intense is just perfect, and it really is a masterpiece.

Great video but im kinda interested to see what wouldve happened if you got the new VUI because recently they just did a new bottle design with a cap and it actually got a tad bit reformulated especially in the pungent opening that got smoothed out more to be mass appealing, as i remember they made it a lil less leathery and more sweet.

I have tried both DHI and DHP. I feel that DHP is way better than DHI. Once you go P you cannot go I is what I feel. The kind of intensity and quality you experience on DHP makes feel DHI very weak to satisfy the longing for that sense pleasuring DNA

Back in 2015 I used to wear dior homme intense everyday to college. I had a 5ml sample and I LOVED it but never ended up getting a bottle which I really regret. Fastfoward to now (2023) I just got a bottle of Valentino uomo intense and I have to say it gets the job done as far as the lip sticky iris that I’ve grown to love in the dior

for me opening of dhi is a bit off, for some newbie it's remind them mosquito repellant and i may a little bit agree with them but the best gorgeouse part is the powdery chocolate woody dry down make it so smooth elegant and that part is quite last a long time.

Great video. Love you two together! Just ordered a bottle of DHI today. Found a great deal on it and couldn’t pass on it. Did take a little bit of a chance on it. I am not a fan of powdery, iris scents. But everyone raves about this. I tend to lean more toward spicy, masculine scents. Really hoping I’m able to appreciate the “Masterpiece”.

@@rottenrebels Great question. I love all of them for different reasons and purposes. DHP for me is the least versatile. I would only wear it dressed up. DHO is the most versatile. I would have to say DHI as I’ve worn it the most and find myself reaching for it more than the others. I’ve come to love powdery scents. Prada Luna Rossa Black is gorgeous as well.

Great comparison! Although VUI is the best of the Uomo line, and it's good by its own right, I still prefer DHI . I find it more masculine and elegant for my taste :)

I was wondering which one of the 2 I should buy some weeks ago, but even if I like DHI, the lipstick/woman purse smell kind of turned me off, and it was the only smell that I got on my skin, so I do prefer the VUI since it still have the iris note but more complex to me, it evolves on the skin in an other way, becoming darker, sexier, and more masculine. I don’t regret it cause I get tones of compliments with VUI!

The vanilla in VUI actually makes it the more brighter take of DHI. The leather is next to non--existent in VUI. Try DHP instead and you will see what a darker take on DHI would be. VUI smells like cooked mashed rice in milk with some vanilla. VUI in a nutshell basically is granny's rice pudding.

Thank you!! A good question.. While there are some similarities, there are also a few things that are different.. To me, they are not identical and they do give me different vibes. I feel the givenchy is less "lipsticky" and more "dry" than Dior, and I do know that some guys prefer Reserve Prive´s take on powdery because of that, and some guys feel the more rich and intense Dior is the best. There's definitely a difference in how that iris comes across and the overall blend. I think I´ll make a video comparing the 2 so I can give a better answer! 😊

Dior Homme Intense is woodier in the new 2020 formulation. Valentino Uomo Intense (2022) is more powdery. In my opinion, VUI is closer to Dior Homme Intense 2011 version with a hint of leather that makes it darker and more masculine.

To my nose, DHI is more similar to Gentlemen reserved privè. But iris in DHI is more heavy that's why DHI is more powdery and lipsticky than privè. Privè is more smooth dan light. I smell the chocolate on both of them. But in Uomo Intense, I actually smelled coconut cookies for some reason, maybe my nose is weird lol. But i like them all but maybe i prefer VUI and GG privè for everyday use. DHI is more suitable for dates where you sit very close, but VUI and GG privè are suitable for all situations because they are lighter but still have their own character so you will still stand out.

I never layered anything with dior homme intense because whenever i put it on, its THAT epic scent I want. Ive layered valentino uomo intense with a bunch of other fragrances though and usually love the results. Anything from subtle changes (like adding musk or another layer of something powdery) to more strong choices like a big dose of leather or tobacco 👌🙌🔥

Hi! This is not one of the newer bottles (but not one of the oldest ones either). I recently bought a new bottle to compare it and there are some differences but the new one is still DHI. Going by comments from subscribers I would say some people feel newer bottles have changed a bit (some say it's less strong), but most people seem to feel it's basically the same. Like always, the best thing is to try it on your skin (spray a few times) and see if you like it or not and then make a decision on getting it or not 😊

@@bernardkwakye434 early Spring, fall and Winter. If you ask me...100% Winter but it's more about the temperature. You can easily wear it under 15°C (59°F) and in a bit higher temp if it's windy. Anything above 15°C it's on your own risk, as in, you can feel the leather being harsher in heat, it's really there, in colder weather the leather is subdued and you fell more of that elegance Valentino Uomo is known for, vanilla, Tonka...all that goodness that is really magic, try a decant 😎 Enjoy.

VUI's opening is richer than DHI's but it dries down quickly to a bland rice pudding scent with some hints of mandarine/orange and leather. The iris gets dominated by the vanilla/tonka. DHI is much more sophisticated and its simplicity is what makes it much more wearable and sexier. I would go for Dior Homme Parfum over DHI though which is the darker version of DHI while I would say that VUI is a brighter take on DHI due to the vanilla. It just goes into the opposite direction from DHP if the base was DHI.

DHI is one of my favorites if not my favorite. I LOOOOVE that fragrance. I purchased Valentino Uomo Intense because some people say it’s better. Also lot of people also say DHI is better soI wanted to test for myself. I will be returning UOMO Intense. It would be an amazing fragrance if Dior Homme Intense didn’t exist. They’re very similar and I don’t see myself ever picking Uomo Intense over DHI. Maybe if I want something a bit less obvious and more subtle. To me Dior Homme Intense is more Lipsticky, fresh, creamy chocolate. Valentino Uomo Intense is more slightly spicy, subtly sweet vanilla and less lipsticky. They’re both amazing, some people don’t like how strong the iris on DHI is. If you want Stronger iris then go for DHI! If you want slight Iris with a bit of vanilla go for VUI. Lavender can be too much sometimes but DHI does it beautifully.

@@rottenrebels YES! The only thing that would actually stop my from giving it a 10/10 is the fact that it’s not an all year round fragrance. And being in AZ, there is a really small window when I can really let it shine. I don’t know tho, I may still wear it year round if it’s not too much since I work in an office, we will see. Scent wise tho? Definitely 10/10 I have many Niche and Designer fragrances and this is one of the ones that i really really enjoy. I also Purchase Dior Homme Parfum and I really enjoy it as well. The great thing about this fragrance is that it also serves as a perfect example of how wearing a fragrance can be more about how it makes you feel than what other people think about it. I have many fragrances and dumb reaches that people compliment and it’s nice and all. I have never received a compliment on Dior Homme Intense at work and even then, it still remains something I want to keep on wearing beacuase of how much I enjoy smelling it on myself through the day! Honestly when I was wearing Valentino Uomo intense at work, it was nice. But it made me miss DHI. In my eyes (or nose) in a world without Dior Homme Intense, Valentino Uomo Intense would be something that I always need to have in my collection. DHI is also the only fragrance I have a back up bottle for and I even got that as a 5oz bottle lol

I am a Valentino Uomo man. I hate The Dior Homme line. I do not like liplicky, waxy, powdery iris. It's feminine and not my cup of tea. The leather in VUI makes it way more masculine and kills the waxy, powdery iris vibe you get from DHI. VUI all day for me.

​@@victorbelmares2722 it's important to know which exact you own. The new Dior Homme 2020 just says "Dior Homme" but is *very* different from the rest. So if you've bought your fragrance after 2020, it has nothing to do with the others. Dior Homme 2020 = citrusy & Woody, Dior Homme original/pre 2020 = powdery & iris. I think having both the intense and original is a bit redundant. But if you have the original and really like the fragrance it might be worth checking out the intense version to get it after you finished your bottle. Also, if you enjoy rose and leather, the Dior Homme Parfum could be a perfect fit for you. Since all versions are very popular you won't have any trouble testing them at any given parfum store (except the parfum version)
