Great looking pens, was in doubt between getting the skyline blue and the evergeen. Opted got the blue because I feel geen and gold are a nicer combination then green and chrome. but I'm just not into gold trim. Can't wait to get the pen

I have the Diplomat Excellence A2 Skyline Blue with the 14K B and I love this pen. If someone wants to hear my opinion about this, or the Aero Factory 14K F, just ask me.

What's your experience

Both pens are very well manufactured and feel substantial in the hand, while not being to heavy, because they are also very well balanced within themselves. Between the Aero and the Excellence... The Excellence has has a thicker coated grip than the Aero which has a slightly slimmer metal grip with a matte finish. If you don’t mind the metal aspect of the pens and buying the pen for the looks not for the metal feeling the Excellence is might be more comparable to your normal pens. The Aero provides a unique experience, because of it‘s design and it’s uncoated metal. The barrel of the Aero has at the threads a materialthickness of 2,5 mm if I remember correctly. That is a really massive construction, which I like. Though I like the grip on the Excellence more, because of the thickness, and the Excellence being maybe the prettier pen, the Aero has a very own spirit. I love both pens. The Excellence is more normal and the Aero is awesome, because of it’s uniqueness and it’s awesome metal construction which I‘m into a lot. Regarding the nibs. Both are tuned very well. The 14K F on my Aero is very responsive pressure. Without any pressure, basically a too light hand, it writes like an EF. But with a normal writing pressure it writes like a normal F. It is not a particularly dry nib, but it runs a bit too dry with Diamine Imperial Blue, this ink doesn‘t really want to come out of the pen, it is too dry. Rohrer & Klingner Smaragdgrün is very nice in this pen. The nib is a nice fine that you can use on low quality paper. But when you push it a little bit you can quite some ink onto the page. It is quite bouncy... Same is true for my 14K B on my Excellence. This is also pretty bouncy, you can definitely get some line variation. Both nibs sing very nicely, by the way :) The broad nib puts down a nice amount of ink. I‘m very happy that is not a gusher, so it is usable for normal writing. It is also not dry, it is just very well tuned. Both nibs are very nicely smoothed and give you a very gentle feedback. They aren’t as highly polished as my stiffer 18K B on my Pelikan M815 Metal Striped. This nib flies across the page (like molten butter with WD-40 on polished glass). The Diplomats aren’t „hot butter on glass“, but they are still perfectly smooth with a little bit of feedback. I would necessarily call it feedback. It more like responsiveness to the paper your writing on. And this responsiveness lets you guide pen very well. I happened to have a very controlled handwriting with both of these nibs. The responsiveness I‘m talking about isn’t dragging on the pen while writing, that is why I don’t want to call it feedback (the has little bit of feedback actually, but for a truly fine nib that is normal and kind of expected). The pen glides smoothly across the paper, while giving you a clue of the structure of the papersurface, if that makes sense. wow, that took me 35 minutes :)

Herr Keks Does the snap cap wear down after a while
@herrkeks85095 жыл бұрын
Winifred Fay I personally can’t say a lot about that, since I don’t have them for a long enough time. I also heard of this issue, but according to figboot on pens they changed their capping mechanism like 1 or 2 years ago so that this isn’t a problem anymore. In the 5 months since I have my Aero I couldn’t notice any changes.

What's your experience with the 14k nib? Is that also a Jawo nib or does diplomat make that one their selve?

Awesome pen. Can't believe the low numbers on your reviews. I blame summer. I subscribe to all the reviewers out there,you are hands down THE best out there !

Thanks! Summer tends to be a bit slower for online traffic. Hopefully, people are out adventuring and enjoying the great outdoors. :-)

7:33 screw in converter? The one of my Diplomat Excellence A2 Skyline Blue as well as the one of my Diplomat Aero Factory are simple push in converters.
@GoldspotPens5 жыл бұрын
Correct, these have screw-in style converters.
@herrkeks85095 жыл бұрын
Goldspot Pens That is very strange, because the ones of my Aero/Excellence just pop in like a cartridge. Nothing to screw, except the piston. I bought mine in Europe... So this might be a factor.

Thank you! No, I don't believe the lacquer on the barrel would be damaged or scratched from posting.

You are the only pen store I have heard quote the weights of pens in ounces rather than grams. As such, I don't find your weights helpful. Also, did I miss the metal of which the nib is made? Or maybe you wrote it. It's not helpful to just write descriptions and not say them. It is difficult for many to read cursive writing on a diagonal on the computer screen. As for the amount of time you spent looking at the book, it was so long, I skipped to the end. I don't mean to be rude. I am trying to be constructive. It's a beautiful pen. I have one. But if I didn't, your video would not have enticed me.

The measurements in grams and ounces are in the description. They are also written on the page that is being used in the handwriting sample. The steel nib is mentioned at least a few times.
@Ken-wz9vy5 жыл бұрын
@@GoldspotPens I like the ounces. I can relate to using ounces. I didn't grow up in the metric world and the USA in not on the metric standard. Tom, thanks for staying with the regular weights and measures.

@@Ken-wz9vy yeah metric system is so uncivilized, i prefer to measure everything in feet
