This was the best video ever! I'm dying in my International Relations class and this totally helped me understand the textbook with more context and ease. The examples were GENIUS, and SO illuminating when everything feels like vague, big-vocab theory. Thanks for all the work you put into this:)))))

interesting... im studying diplomacy & international relations, based in Zambia, im Greek/Philipino & worked with expats mostly Americans. I was surprised when US Ambassador Foote criticized the Zambian Govt about Homosexuality. As a diplomat you aren't allowed to engage with another countries internal affairs... main reason for doing so is the power of the US to influence another sovereign state using trade, Aid, etc...

The U.S. has not partially recognized a Palestinian State, de jure. The U.S. Does however recognize a Palestinian government, legally existing, de jure. The U.S. does not even de facto recognize a Palestinian state. You're a bit slipshod on the law here. Disappointing. Maybe your political analysis is good but legally speaking you are wrong (and are probably wrong about lots of other light blue countries). Unrecognized states and terrorists have some points in common by the way. Many times terrorist groups went on to form state power and eventually became recognized. Often unrecognized states are also pariah states and engage in illegal warfare, including privateering, at least historically.
