Does this have a spot to mount a BL touch?

Nice video, always like to see you put up new content. But I have a complaint, you started me down the upgrade path with the replacement of the stock extruder on an ender 5 plus. This sent me down a rabbit hole ending in my 5 plus now fitted with a BTT Skkr mini e3 v3 and a Biqu h2 v2 direct drive and running klipper. I hope your happy as now I have a truly great printer and this was in part to your help in giving me the confidence in making the first upgrade 😂

Thanks Steve, glad to see you’re still watching after I had a bit of a break! Sorry to hear you’ve gone down the rabbit hole😂 but you’re welcome for some better prints. You’re giving me upgrade envy, think I’ll have to start doing some more myself.

@@CallumColes yes, I found the mechanical upgrades easy, but it was my lack of marlin experience that forced me down the klipper route. Though klipper has its downsides, I found it a real help to resolve issues due to the fast config change ability, no more flashing sdcard files onto mainboards 🙏😀. just as a side note, I have had a few people on face all asking for somewhere to get filament sample bundles to test in the UK, I replied to them suggesting your company as you sell samples via Amazon. Would you be able to sell large sample packs, wide range of your filaments as a single pack for people starting to learn printing or looking for a better supplier than the usual Chinese offerings. Even if you offered this as a order option through your website and you can build sample as you receive orders. The main reason seems to be the people asking want to try different colours etc but don’t want to buy full reels but also want to support a uk company.

Hey, thanks for making this video! The eBay link to the extruder is no longer live. Could you please share the name of the extruder so that I can look it up?

Nice video how about upgrading the main board and screen I have mine to a 4.2.7 32bit and the later ender 3 v2 screen a lot smoother on the prints and less noise yes the broad is 24v but runs nice on 13.7v just a thought for you on another video

I get the being lazy bit... but for the sake of 2 holes, why didn´t you go for an H2 V2 extruder or something similar? Lighter, more powerfull, flexible, much better printing quality, and even easier conversion (aside of the two holes for mounting) and FAR more reliable than an MK8 hot end (im running 3 h2 so i can vouch for its reliablility). I´m saying H2 because is the lightest, cheapest option V6 compatible out of the box right now, but any all in one integrated extruder would have been beetter than this!! Its a pretty outdated conversion dating almos to the age of the printer. It was a great oportunity to actually update the printer and move away from the dodgy MK8 extruder... (oh, and no buildplate size reduction)

Thank you for watching and your comment! For this upgrade, price and convenience was also a factor, this part was only £34 and required no additional parts. The H2 V2 may well perform better, but not sure this printer warrants a significant improvement, since the mechanics of the printer aren't great! My logic for this upgrade, was that - because it is sooo easy - others would be more inclined to give it a go. Those a bit more informed, perhaps like yourself, would probably have already upgraded their machine with some other extruder + drive gear combination. I am confident this upgrade would work well for others though, as has completed a number of 5+ day prints since installation without problem.

@@CallumColes ok. I will admit that 34 quid is pretty unbeatable when it comes to cost. And if is able to run 5days plus prints, is a good workhorse. (Didn't really doubt about it as my firts direct drive was something like yours but self designed). However, lets agree to disagree about the poor mechanics of a cr10. A bed slinger well tuned and a bit rigidised chasis, along with klipper would make wonders ... Keep the good work. I've never needed to have a 5 day + print, maybe coz my cartesian are faster or coZ i don't print big enough.... but you definitely deserve all my respect!!!
