the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. kzbin.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

Appears so effortless, like water taking the shape of a glass, but when I try & make, multitudes of ugliness come at me & I struggle, but slowly with this kind of inspiration & learning by seeing I get better. Thank you for all you share.

I like your approach to making boxes Jimmy. You create the lid from the whole of the box, rather than making a separate lid. Its not only a simpler way to work, it's a more zen way to achieve a beautiful box. You then 'take the inside line' shim the inside of the box up and basically make the male piece that fits into the lid. I like how you are also 'tack welding' those small strips of wood with the CA glue. Small thin pieces, and staying square can be challenging. Thanks for all the tricks and great videos Jimmy.

_HEY DIRESTA! maybe in a case like this you could drill tiny holes close together through the leather and the wood and stitch it simulating leatherworking stitches, then gluing a strip of wood painted black on the inside of it so the holes don't affect the structural integrity of the box._ this way the leather will never get loose! Love your videos so much, man!!!

Kickass! I was watching Matthias Wandel's video of when he made a grave marker for his father, and he spray painted the inside of the letters black (Tried burning but that didn't work). Then sanded/planed off the excess paint. Really made the engravings pop! I really think you should've tried that with this piece! The bridge and the letters would really stand out.

Thanks for another great video Jimmy. I'm always inspired by your effective sanding methods - adhering sandpaper to a stationary or simple, custom-made hand-held form.
