DiResta: Curio Box

In each episode of DiResta (every other Wednesday), artist and master builder Jimmy DiResta (Dirty Money, Hammered, Against the Grain, Trash for Cash) lets us into his workshop, to look over his shoulder while he builds whatever strikes his fancy. I love how you made your box joints with such simplicity, there is another youtuber that made a box joint rig, that all these gears and complicated stuff. I love how you achieved the same precision but with such simplicity. The way you work with wood is awesome.

Bryce A Yeah, but if I recall correctly. Matthias' jig can do multiple sizes (by adjusting his gear system). DiResta here has to make a new jig (or a new insert) everytime he wants a different size for the joints

Jeroen Demaeght I think all he does is cut a small piece of wood to size and hot glues or super glues it to the slide table. When he is done he can just pop it off.

Jimmy DiResta I really like how you do those fingers on the end of the boards. I know Matthias Wandel has his box joint jig which is also cool, but if you could do a video or include a section showing how you do yours, it would be great. I like the simplicity of your system. Do you make the spacer to suit? is it hot glued in place? etc etc. Great video as always, I always look forward to the next one!
