This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection kzbin.infoUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.

Aways great to have Jimmy narrate. Very calming voice that draws you in. Like David Attenborough in the old "Life on Earth" series. Even if you didn't care about the content the presentation was so enjoyable. DiResta happens to cover both bases: great content and presentation.

Was great to hear the narration and your thought processes while working in this one! Really like the hammer and brass rings to not only strengthen but give the hammer that old school look. You and the hammer reminded me of your old "Hammered" TV show. Appreciate the reference to "Jack Webb" Productions. That was cool.

Nice mallet! Until the end I thought this was a judge's gavel : ) In fact, it would make a *great* judge's gavel! I am intrigued that you added a voice-over narrative. On the one hand, it removed some of the mystery of what you were doing and where and what and why. On the other hand, the mystery is kind of fun. And now, to be fair to your international fan base, you are faced with posting additional copies of this video with voice-overs in seven additional languages ; )

You had a vision, & another hammer just like it... NOW, I will acknowledge this here reality, after piping off rather rudely from the back section so to speak.. Better by far than the video I took the time to make, then edit, then upload to the WWW! I was entertained, bottom line. Thanks for completing what most of us "know we can do" ¿CAPICHE?! On a side note: instead of cost, I will now think of what I viewed here, next time I see pipe that diameter. Honestly.

I hate to be "That Guy". But seeing you laying parts down and test fitting stuff inches away from the running blade on your crosscut sled made me uncomfortable. I don't observe many overly protective safety rules, but turning the saw off before using the top as a workbench is one of the major "Do's" in my shop. Otherwise, great little pounder you made there. How much did that brass pipe cost? Im almost afraid to ask. LOL. Keep up the good work.

I like all of Jimmy's videos, but In my mind I think that they where better when he didn't talked in them. That does not mean that I don't like him talking.. no I acctually like his other videos where he shows his shop and the Videos where he explains stuff. But in his build videos, the most fascinating thingt for me is, that they are so quiet, with only the sounds of his tools and the radio in the background.. that has something very soothing and it is quiet relaxing to watch, and it is totally possible for me (and other people) to follow him step by step without him talking. I don't realy need him to explain everything to me. (again that's not meant bad in any way) The other thing is (as you can may tell because of my bad grammar) I am not from an english speaking country, but my dad also loves Jimmy's videos but now that he's talking, my dad feels kinda wrong, not even understanding him. But however, yet again another cool video! Greetings from Germany, Jonas.

To get rid of most of the sanding marks, I usually sand a finish with 180 and 230 grit sandpaper and after that I use the shavings of the turned piece to give it a nice polish. This way I usually don't have to polish manually and can go straight to sealing the surface...

Nice design, I need to make a couple of job specific mallets soon and the brass rings are a nice touch. Shame about the drive/live centre marks on the mallet faces but I suppose they'll fade with use. It's something I used to overlook in my earlier lathe projects but now I take it into account and cut them off or mount the work in such a way that it doesn't leave them in the first place i.e. by using a chuck and a soft cover over the live centre.
