Thanks Peter, I will be releasing some more footage in coming weeks as I get around to editing. We go for about a week, using a capable rod I can usually lift fish under 6kg straight up. Anything bigger than that definitely needs a gaff 👍

fished dirk last year the block,urchin point and quoin head didnt see this cliff spot is that south of mystery beach we didnt go up that track ,what gear were you using we had to gaff most of are fish cheers phill

Hi Phil, it sounds like you covered a bit of ground on your trip. We use heavy rods 80lb (GT86 saltiga) which enables lifting fish up to 6kg, it’s great not having to use the gaff much. We were based at the block but the sharks were the worst I have ever seen so we moved around a lot, I won’t spot burn but there are alot of ledges near the block that can produce at the right time. I am am editing more footage at the moment so stay tuned
