Also, there is no real need for leads. Bees will follow if you have a flower. A bonus point, once you get a birch sapling (because birch trees are easier to farm), it's possible to generate a bee nest right at the starter base. That's how I get the bees in the early game. But I really liked the video and the concept. I've tried making a bee farm that didn't use that many bottles but my best attempt was 2-block tileable farm that used observers and minecarts.

just wanted to say that i really appreciate you reminding us that it’s ok to not be ok and that things will get better. something that seems really simple but it warmed my heart and i’m sure helps at least one person watching your videos. thank you!

This farm was unBEElievable in its simplicity. I was HIVEing such a good learning experience from it on thinking in different ways to solve that empty bottle issue in many similar farms. Well done, Stromne, on this SWEET design! Also thank you for always acknowledging the importance of our mental health

Cycling the bottles with a minecart is a nice idea. ianxofour has a similar "dirt cheap" farm where dispensed empty bottles go into the dispenser for the next hive in a loop. It uses two comparators for a 30 tick clock but that can be replaced by hoppers/rails/any other clock. * Both farms work with very few bottles. ianxofour's farm runs bottles in a circle so you can start the farm even with a single bottle, but getting 13 is easy as well. * This farm has more one-time build overhead with the two stations but it's easier to expand hive by hive. * This farm makes in-farm breeding of bees a bit easier as they all share one space. * ianxofour's farm has fewer bees blocking each other so it should be a bit more efficient per hive. While it's not within dirt cheap rules, it's noteworthy that building the farm in the nether or end more than doubles the production as the bees don't need to sleep in these dimensions.

How did you know I was needing a honey farm

It seems like this would work exactly the same by recycling shears to get honeycomb. If so, it could be used for either purpose just by feeding it from two sets of chests and selecting which product to harvest just by redirecting a curved rail or something couldn't it?
