Believe it or not, you have been a giant part of inspiration and showing me how to gold pan as a hobby now. I have been watching you for probably 1 and a half years now, and your videos have always been a source for me to calm down. I just wanted to say thank you because you have changed my perspective on a lot of stuff. Keep up the good work! 😄👍

The metallic rocks...I'd try to see if it was lead...lead is malleable ...hit it with a hammer and see if it fractures apart or if it stays together and flattens.

Great video Klesh. I love these old videos. They really showcase how far your skills have come over the years. It must have really sped up the process when you started using the spray bottle to wash out the bottom of the pans during your panning. Watching you pan back the garnets was almost cathartic as it was slow and methodical. Cheers!

That right there is typical panning in some areas, I've done it. Being in Alberta is even worse than British Columbia, because the gold is weathered down to minute particles of flour fine dust. If it concentrates and your test pan shows less than 50 specks/pan I'll keep looking a 100/pan, ok set up highbanker. Those garnets are here, red, purple, green, & typically annoying. The black sand is plentiful, only a small fraction of it is magnetic. This video is a good illustration of what it is possible to do with a pan, an infinitely important skill. Thank-you for posting.

Thanks for all of the FINE videos Shane. Just a thought- all of these small gemstones (garnets) might be fun to find in your pay dirt after being tumble polished. Just another way to use more of the tailings.

Absolutely, I use lots of garnets and anything that happens to come from the river directly in all my paydirt. If you're looking for more gems and minerals specifically that would be the discovery bags 👍⛏

i think the best part of longer videos is hearing your thoughts as you go through the process, i have about 3lbs of fine sand to process and i noticed very small red garnets, is red the only color that they come in, these garnets may be 2mm, i am also finding a lot of silver leaf
@Emeraldwitch30
@Emeraldwitch30 7 ай бұрын
Garnets can come in green too and are worth more than diamonds because it's rare. I'm a January baby and garnet is the birthstone I also love green gemstones so imagine my surprise when I heard of them. Only to be disappointed because the cost is way way to high for this gal! Lol I have a couple big natural garnets that have a reddish/purple color when the light goes through them.
