Curious use of stable diffusion. AI art can sometimes add the ideas of others so it’s always interesting to see how we have interpreted these ideas through media/art. And perhaps by noting the absence of those ideas that cannot make it to such platforms we have found the adversary of this song.

There is a narrative reason why we use it. But the notion that it’s a problem because it may incorporate others work, that doesn’t really seem like a problem for me. In the sense that this is how people use and learn to make art as well. We absorb the art around us and integrate it into our own tastes and creativity. The scales I use on piano, the technology I use for guitar, the albums that influenced this one, etc. Out of creative necessity, we all must cross bridges that others have built. Even the very first artist had to borrow from nature.

It also has this very uncanny ability to make these flowing transitions - in reality AI has been in art for a long long time to speed up the process by estimation and taking note of artistic patterns. I think y’all are adding much more than you are taking, no problems here. Though I think if too many people opt to borrow rather than take the chance to create we might make beauty a rather mundane thing! Though great work folks, keep it up!

But with that said, I think Stable Diffusion is rad. It creates a style of animation that is all it’s own. Most of the AI seems pretty trashy and unruly to me, but that has its own thing going for it.

I think AI is a very interesting tool, but with the general culture surrounding it (people using it to, well, replace human artists) and how many of them use stolen art in their data training, it's got a ways to go. We won’t forever. It’s actually part of the story line of this record. The best way to represent the AI aspects of the story is with AI. We are heading towards a fever dream where people are going to have a hard time distinguishing between what is real and what is generated. This story is the escape from that.
