i was playing manual in first person view on controller with all driving assists off for awhile cuz i wanted the simulation experience but man is it brutal and too unforgiving especially with RWD where the slightest error could make you lose the whole race which sucks when youre nearly finished. Yeah the challenge is fun but it can be pretty frustrating at times so i turned some of the assists up slightly and changed to automatic and its been much more enjoyable

i mean yea rwd are by far the hardest cars to drive in the game it would be way too hard on controller without a LOT of experience and sensitive usage of throttle and steering

wow, after all this time I struggled with controlling the car with default setup and some the assist. After following your setup, now I can beat AI 35% LOL (I set 30% to easier but not so easy to beat the AI). thank you!

In the end of the day its more important to have fun. If you struggle you might as well put some assist on like traction or stability.. Technically yes it is faster withtout them but thats like assuming you're a very good /top driver no matter what. Having no assists doesn't automatically make you faster if you're still unable to handle the car. This is the classic sim racer pep talk to show off how better they are than everyone else.

Thanks for the awesome video! Higher quality than most people with thousands of subs. I'm planning on buying this game soon, and I'm coming from Forza and DiRT 4 simulation mode, both using controller. What difficulty settings and things to practice do you recommend? Also I usually play with the assists off but not with ABS off. What do you recommend to help me get better at playing without ABS?

Thank you kindly! With regards to difficulty, career mode starts off easy and each time you win a championship the difficulty moves up. The game does not have a robust single player campaign, so that will be an adjustment coming from Forza/Dirt 4. As for practice, I will have a video coming out with suggestions. Re: ABS, turning it off is necessary to drive rally cars the way they are intended, as you use the brakes not just to stop but also weight transfer, which is difficult to do with ABS. Learning to feather your brakes (only applying 25%, 50%, 75% brake) will help you with trail and threshold braking which lets you control when the wheels lock rather than the ABS system. I hope to do a detailed explanation in a future video.

I have time control braking off and I just run over one of the guys there every time and it stops it instantly where as sometimes it doesn't work properly and needs to time out and I am in patent

Thanks for tutorial. If someone wants to comfy and realistic driving simrace on controller then check Asseto Corsa with A7 assist mod. I have not find yet other simrace, which would correct the way how a game interprets controller's stick input.

On Xbox controller: X - handbrake Y - downshift B - upshift A - clutch I don't use the clutch that often, only to combat turbo lag or get some more wheel spin

Really cool idea for a game I don't like that I can only play in first person on my ps4 I can usally play a first person with no problem but this game is just to fast pace to jump in from helmet view an have any idea of what's going on or how to actually take turns the right way an make times

Yes, this game is very difficult at first, especially if you are used to arcade sims and used to full throttle all the time. Just keep playing and the results will be very rewarding

You cannot change difficulty in myteam, you have to win a career championship to increase difficulty. Freeplay you can adjust difficulty

Don't brake too hard. Increase braking distance, brake slowly, and release brake pressure while steering
