You can also use the grill on a bbq to cook shrimp bcuz the shrimp won't fall through, but only in emergencies.

Nice dyi vid. One easier way would be to use cardboard to make a template and trace it on ur mesh then cut it out. I did that and then I used my router to make a inside lip then used a heavy duty adhesive to glue it in place. Great job on audio and video 👍

I have a 01 Subaru legacy gt limited with the same grill. I have been thinking about doing this for a while or getting a mesh grill but they are like $100!! I am definitely going to do this now. Thought it was funny that I have the same drill and some fabric seats sitting in my garage witch are going in the legacy as they have way better support for cornering.

1000 - 2500 wet/dry works, 320 is way too aggressive and is why youre needing to use so many coats. If you use 320 you should use a high build primer sand that with 800 then shoot 2-3 light coats.

I wanna do this to my Ram 1500 stock grille , A pheasant went through it years ago and then got minced by the fan . It cracked the grille and mesh of course. So I reckon i could cut the cross out and do this mesh job , that would save hundreds !! I`m in England so it would be expensive for me to get a new one .. Good Job.

Awesome bro they will. Otago in New Zealand has the most outbacks compared to any where else in the world. We get a lot of Japanese imports here and us kiwis like the versatility of the outback. 2 or 3 years you can pick up a cheap one, mines done nearly 300,000km and its only 12 years old.

Easy to avoid using zip-ties. All you need is some glue and a sheet of plastic to essentially sandwich the mesh in. Or use a dremel to make a shallow channel the whole way round and slide the mesh into that.

Once you busted out zip ties for the mesh, I almost gave up on your video. Glad I didn't though, you drilled the holes just right and used thin zip ties, couldn't even notice them after the paint job. Granted, I would've fixed up the grill frame with body filler, using the leftover mesh as a kind of lath like I was plastering a wall, before painting, but otherwise it's a pretty good build. Keep it up, and don't listen to the haters!
